Right now in Liuli Pavilion, sit Keqing, Ganyu, and Wangsheng funeral parlor's consultant Zhongli. In their private room, Zhongli enjoys his tea, and in front of him sit Keqing and Ganyu. They don’t know what should they say so they wait for a while.
And, why they were in that situation is because a week ago when Keqing was doing her job with her girlfriend Ganyu in silence, suddenly Ganyu broke the silence and said "my father wants to meet you…"
Hearing this, Keqing stops her pen and sees Ganyu in disbelief "Sorry, what? Can you repeat it?"
"My father wants to meet you. I mean not my real father but Rex Lapis as my adoptive father."
"What does he want?" Ask Keqing, frowning because she doesn't know why their God wants to meet her and she thinks that she didn't do anything that offends him after the incident on the rite of parting. Besides, she can't offend Rex Lapis anymore because she knows that her work is still nothing compared to Rex Lapis's precise works. And the most important thing is she doesn't want to upset her girlfriends because of her insulting her most precious God.
"He said that he knows about us so he wants to talk…." Said Ganyu in a low voice.
Keqing's heart races. She starts speculating what Rex Lapis would want to say to her. Does he doesn't like her relationship with Ganyu so he wants them to break up? Or maybe Rex Lapis doesn't want Keqing as Ganyu's partner because of her disrespectful act toward him? She should think of 1001 ways to answer his question so that they can be together before their meeting.
Worried because her girlfriend didn't answer her, Ganyu said "Are you okay? Should I tell him that we're busy so that we can't meet with him?"
"I know you don't like him that much and I don't want to pressure you to meet up with him."
Hearing Ganyu's words makes Keqing snap and quickly say "I'm okay Ganyu just thinking." reassuring her girlfriends.
"So when does he want to meet?"
"He said he wants to meet on the first day of the lantern rite….." Said Ganyu carefully because she knew that Keqing wouldn't like to hear this.
"Why did he pick that day to meet!? He must know it will be a very busy day and I don't like the idea to abandon my work. Besides, It's the most vulnerable day for crime to happen. What if the treasure hoarder does something again like last year?"
"I know Qing, I don't want to abandon my work either. So I ask him if it's okay for us to come after finishing our work and he doesn't mind it." Said Ganyu while stroking Keqing's gloved hand gently to calm her down.
Sighing, Keqing said "If he doesn't mind it then fine I don't mind it either. Just tell me later where he wants to meet"
And that's why they were here. But Keqing didn't expect Wangsheng funeral parlor's consultant is Rex Lapis, who was already deceased. The first time they came into the private room, she became speechless and saw him with complicated feelings.
Because before this meeting, she even talks once or twice with him to ask for some advice about work and he will always answer with a plausible answer that she can't argue with. And the most embarrassing thing is she ever told him indirectly about her problem when she got into their first fight when they just became girlfriends.
When Ganyu sense that no one wants to talk first, she broke the silence and said "My lord, what kind of thing do you want to discuss with us?" politely.
While drinking his tea, Zhongli said "Don't be afraid my child, I'm here just to chat to both of you. And please don’t be tense I’m not a god anymore. Just call me Zhongli like you always do."
After taking a little breath, he continues "So how are both of you doing?"
"I'm fine my lord thank you."
"The same as always." Said Ganyu and Keqing at the same time.
Hearing Ganyu call him ‘My Lord’ makes him a little sad, but he pretended he didn’t hear it and didn’t say anything because he knows it’s a habit that hard to die. "I know both of you must be busy so I won't take it much longer than this…"
While staring at Keqing, Zhongli said "Keqing, do you seriously want to be together with Ganyu with all of your remaining lifespans, and do you think you can make her happy?"
"My lord! What are you...." When Ganyu wants to protest against Rex Lapis, Keqing squeezed her hand to calm her down. And said " I'm very serious about our relationship. If I'm not serious I will not ask for your advice at that time. And I'm willing to give her everything I have. Including my life." Said Keqing sternly.
"How about your beliefs about the human era? Can you abandon it for her?"
"....."
"My lord, I think you're too harsh with her. It's not fair for her and I will not ask that from her. And I'm sure she will not ask me to do something like that too."
"It's okay Ganyu." Keqing reassured her. "This and that is a different problem. And depending on the situation, I'm willing to give up on it." Said Keqing seriously with an unwavering stare.
Hearing her girlfriend's statement surprised her but on the other hand, she's happy to hear her girlfriends want to go that far for her. "Qing…"
While rubbing Ganyu's hand, Keqing said "Don't worry Yu, I will not abandon my belief that easily and before that, I will do my best to search for another way. You know I will not give up that easily right"
"Just promise me you will tell me before you do something like that."
"Sure I will."
Meanwhile, Zhongli just sees their conversation from his seat. He's glad that finally, Ganyu found her happiness and she didn't always think about Liyue. Sometimes he's worried that Ganyu is overlooking herself because of her work but seeing this sight makes him sure that Keqing will take good care of her.
"Very well. I know how serious both of you are to each other. So the main thing I want to ask is when will both of you get married?"
Hearing this Keqing almost spits her tea and Ganyu's face is red like Jueyun chili. "M-my lord I think it's still too fast for us. We're just been dating recently..."
"And how long does your recently mean?" Ask Zhongli not sure about Ganyu's awareness of time
"About one year?" said Ganyu with a low voice. Ashamed because when she thinks about it, in that one year, they never do anything else besides hugging, and kissing.
Seeing Ganyu like that, Zhongli guesses that they’re taking their relationship very slowly. "It's pretty long for humans to date that long. You know they don't have a long lifespan like us Adeptus right."
"Yes…" said Ganyu guilty about it because the reason they never had sex was because of her anxiety and shyness.
"I-I don't mind it. I want to make sure Ganyu is fully ready for it. I'm ready and will always wait for her."
"As long as both of you don't mind it. But I hope I can see your child as soon as possible." Said Zhongli like a father that wants to see his grandchild badly.
Not long after that, Ganyu and Keqing excuse themself to Zhongli because it’s already late. And before they go home, they decide to take a little walk at Liyue harbor. Because of the lantern rite, every corner in Liyue is full of decoration. The street they usually walk seems more exquisite. Although it’s past midnight, they can see some people still working selling street food and lantern rite merchandise.
They walk in silence. Sometimes their hand brushes each other but their mind isn’t there. Thinking about their talk earlier. After no one knows how many times they walk around, suddenly Ganyu stopped walking and said “do you want to release a lantern together?”
At first, Keqing is a little confused because Ganyu stopped abruptly but after hearing her, Keqing said “sure, let’s buy it before they close.” while holding Ganyu’s hand, they went to the nearest kiosk.
After buying their lantern, Qanyu requested they released it at Mt.Tianheng. Keqing doesn’t know why Ganyu wants to release it there although she can guess that Ganyu wants to tell her something. But she didn’t say anything and just follows her quietly.
When they reach Mt.Tianheng, they write down their wish and released their lantern. They see their lantern go farther and farther until they can’t see it anymore. And then Ganyu break the silence and said “do you want to marry me?”
Hearing this makes Keqing almost fall. But luckily she can compose herself quickly. Facing Ganyu, Keqing takes her hands and said “of course, I want to marry you. But don’t be pressured by it Yu, you can take it slow. Like I said earlier, I will wait for you.”
“I already thinking about what Rex Lapis said. And actually, I ever think when a day where we’re already married, happily living together, and have a child. But I’m just too scared of the thing that comes after that….” Ganyu inhale, steadying herself. “ What if you die and I can’t move on? What will happen to our child? I just don’t want them to be sad because of me while on the other hand, they must be sad too about you passing away. I-I just….” Thinking about what will happen after that makes Ganyu’s heart clench and without realizing it tears start falling from her eyes.
Can’t stand seeing Ganyu cry, Keqing hugs her tightly and strokes her head carefully not wanting to touch her horn accidentally. “Shhh, It’s okay Ganyu. I’m still here okay. It’s still a long way to go. I will not leave you that fast and I promise we will make many memories together before that.”
While being hugged, Ganyu just nods a little and strengthens their hugs. Not wanting to release her and lose her warmth.
Not long after that, Keqing sense that Ganyu’s breathing has become stable, and when she checks on her, she sees Ganyu sleeping in her arm while still standing. Thinking about how ridiculous and absurd Ganyu’s sleeping state makes Keqing chuckle. Not wanting her girlfriend to get sick, Keqing carried her to her house and whispered “Sleep thigh.”
