Him & I

Summary:

“You shouldn’t be here.”

He knows that. He is well aware that he’s in way over his head, that’s the only fucking thought he had on his way up here. Fuck, reasons why he shouldn’t be here have been the only thing playing through his head for the last two weeks! But he can’t help it, he craves it - craves him, yearns for the danger of it all. So yeah, he knows he shouldn’t be here, but he doesn’t care.

Not when it comes to him.

Notes:

All events in this fic are that, fictional. This is merely a work of writing, and in no way reflects my perception of relationship dynamics.

It's short but read with caution for mentions of blood, drugs, guns, and burn marks.

Yoongi is in over his head, but we love it.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

“You shouldn’t be here.”

He knows that. He is well aware that he’s in way over his head, that’s the only fucking thought he had on his way up here. Fuck, reasons why he shouldn’t be here have been the only thing playing through his head for the last two weeks! But he can’t help it, he craves it - craves him , yearns for the danger of it all. So yeah, he knows he shouldn’t be here, but he doesn’t care.

“I know.” Yoongi murmurs. He internally cringes at himself, he sounds far weaker than he should in a place like this, no doubt he’s being stared at like he doesn’t belong. And he doesn’t, not here. Not where a man like this sprays bullets for fun, not where he manipulates people for sport, and not in a place like this where the leather isn’t red from dye, but from the spilt blood of his enemies.

“So why are you here, Yoongi?”

Why is he here? Really, why did he come crawling back? Yoongi had the chance to run weeks ago, and he did. He ran for the fucking hills, even fucking changed his number cause he was fucking petrified of what a life like this would lead. A life like this being; nothing more than heavy drug dealing, underground gun markets, and land feuds. A life like this being; having no freedom , and no way to lead a normal life because he’d be on the run the whole time. Running from everything, his past, his family, the feds.

These next few moments will determine the rest of his life, and what legacy he leaves behind. He can still leave, pack up his shit and scamper off into the night like any reasonable person would do (or a coward ), and nobody would have to know. He can go back to the life he had before and forget any of this ever happened, and pretend to feel safe and fulfilled and happy where he came from.

But he’s never been a good liar. And no matter what the theoretically smart decision is, nothing can change how he feels. He’s never felt safer than in the embrace of Jeon Jungkook, never felt more important than when Jeon Jungkook searched for him, and he’s never felt more beautiful than under the piercing gaze of Jeon Jungkook.

Jungkook. Jungkook. Jungkook.

The cause of all his problems, and seemingly the only answer. Even now, as he stands before him in front of his crew members, he can barely fight the urge to drop to his knees and serve him. Seated on his throne without a care in the world, gazing upon him like he’s the most uninteresting thing to exist, he still looks like the very God he had once sworn to worship for the rest of his life.

But even now as he’s looked upon as less than, he’s always been able to read Jungkook like the back of his hand. Yoongi can see the glimmer of hope in his eyes, can read the mirth in his otherwise impassive expression. But most of all, he can hear the anticipation in his voice.

Jungkook looks exactly as effortlessly ethereal as he always does, raven hair slicked back to expose his forehead, eyes an obsidian black to stare straight into Yoongi’s fragile soul, and muscled-body posed to threaten, provoke.

He certainly feels provoked right now, but maybe not in the way he’s thinking. Jungkook has always been a mystery to him, even when they had their short, short rendezvous, Yoongi had always made himself vulnerable, practically naked mentally and physically throughout the duration of their moments together. Yet Jungkook hadn’t shared much beyond the basics. And whenever Yoongi pressed for more, it usually ended with him face down and ass up in his own sheets, used relentlessly like a toy in his own home.

He’d never felt more powerful.

“Because I want you more.”

Finally, he sees it. A flicker of warmth surging through his eyes, momentarily breaking his stoic nature. Yoongi watches as Jungkook’s tattooed fingers thrum against the handle of his motorcycle, and he knows he has him. A habit of his whenever he’s making a decision, Yoongi swallows down his cry for love. He needs to be strong right now, he doesn’t want to show even a sliver of weakness lest Jungkook sends him away.

And Yoongi would simply kill himself if he couldn’t have him.

“You’ll never have your old life back, Yoongi. Never. And you’ll be mine, forever. You’ll be branded, and your only option to leave is by dying. And even then…”

It’s funny, Yoongi thinks. It’s funny how hard Jungkook is trying to send him away. He should know Yoongi better by now, if he’s standing here, he’s way past changing his mind.

“Who says I’m not already yours?”

And then, something in the atmosphere shifts. A mutual understanding, the weight of his decision settles in his stomach, and he feels complete. Jungkook stares at him for a moment more, the two of them ignoring the uproar of his elated crew members. Jungkook breaks the stillness first, reaching into his vest pocket and pulling out his signature ‘J.K.’ engraved lighter and a stray cigarette.

Yoongi watches enraptured as Jungkook brings the cigarette to his mouth and lights it aflame, the smell of the burning bud so familiar it brings him near tears. Jungkook lets the cigarette hang in his mouth, occasional puffs of smoke releasing from his mouth. Yoongi just wants to kiss him and smoke it together. But he waits, patiently. Always so, so patient.

Always so, so good.

With a quick two-finger gesture, he steps closer to the love of his life. He knows what to expect, knows exactly what’s going to happen next. He’s only ever seen it once, after Jimin was initiated as a lover. A bitch. Pulling the cigarette from his lips, Jungkook levels him with a look. He can’t quite figure out what he’s trying to portray, but he feels it. Feels the weight of his gaze like he’s being crushed, and knows that he was given one last chance to run.

He stays.

Jungkook’s lips twitch, a ghost of his smirk is the only thing he’s able to see before he feels searing hot pain in the crevice of his neck. He gasps, skin burning under the bunt of Jungkook’s cigarette. Yoongi wants to pull away, but he doesn’t, he can’t, he won’t . He’s being claimed like any proper bitch would be. When Jungkook finally pulls away, the pain morphs into searingly hot pleasure

Now, his entire being belongs to Jeon Jungkook, the mark of his ownership for the world to see.

The crew hollers loudly behind him, but all he can focus on is the proud gaze from Jungkook. He made the right decision, he knows it.

“Hop on, baby.”

Yoongi swings his leg across the bike, settling down in his seat, only wrapping his arms across Jungkook’s waist after a helmet has been strapped to his head. And as they ride off into the night, Yoongi only has one thought rampaging his mind and filling his heart.

In the end, it’s him and I.
