Work Text:
Takemichi had always been scared of the soulmate bond. Finding his one true love fascinated him, but every fairytale has its downside.
Having a soulmate means you share their pain. Every ounce of it.
But that’s the way about love, promising to share each other's struggles. Takemichi did not want this. Adding to the down side, Takemichi's soulmate is no Prince Charming.
“Whoever my soulmate is, I hope they start taking pain relievers,” the boy stated, laying his head on Emma’s shoulders. They were waiting for Toman to arrive at the park. Mikey had called saying that there was a fight so they’d be a minute. Stupid boys Emma had said, telling Takemichi that they’re wasting his time.
They had been childhood friends, Mikey, Baji, Takemichi, and Emma. Takemichi had always been in pain due to his soulmate, in which Baji had promised to beat whoever it was up to. His logic wasn’t on the right path but Takemichi was grateful.
However, at the bright age of 9 Takemichi was forced to move away, so Baji was left thinking he could never fulfill that promise. But thanks to Emma and her way of swimming through the internet, managed to find Takemichi’s instagram. After a few months of updating him, talking, and much more. Takemichi announced he’d be moving back home.
Now they are here, Takemichi exprecing more pain because of his soulmate and Emma complaining about never feeling hers. Takemichi had developed the habit of pinching himself, wanting the person on the other side to feel what he felt. Sometimes when he did it, he’d look around to see if anyone reacted.
So far no one.
“Let’s just go get ramen,” Emma said excitedly, shooting up, “They’re taking forever!”
“Emma, if we walk away they’ll kill us, you know that,” Takemichi sighed, rolling his shoulders.
“But this is boring!”
“What’s boring?” The two spun around, slightly happy to see Mitsuya standing there. The rest of Toman was nearly behind him, some of them letting out shouts of victory.
“Waiting for you,” Takemichi answered, in which Emma let out a snort, “You guys seem to take forever,” Mitsuya smiled at them, before looking back at the rest, “Yeah well, a win is a win, let them enjoy it,” Emma pouted, grabbing Takemichi as she made her way down the street.
Takemichi let out a yelp, Emma had a hard grip. His eyes met with a tattooed blond, Draken.
And he was.. rubbing his wrist?
Draken didn’t know Takemichi too well, all he knew was that Baji and Mikey loved him a lot and that somehow he’s always been around. When the kid moved back he was worried Mikey wouldn’t want to focus on Toman anymore, but to his shock Mikey tried to force Takemichi to JOIN the gang.
Though he said no to it, Takemichi still hung out with them. One thing they all knew about Takemichi was that he always seemed to be in pain. Either it was his own clumsiness or his soulmate, the boy was rubbing a joint or icing a limb.
They pitied him, but nothing they could ever do would help him. Yes, this includes Baji’s (plus Kazutora’s) of beating them up.
Like said earlier, not the best logic.
“Hey, Takemichi you good?” Baji asks, leaning closer to the boy at the ramen shop.
“Yeah, just thinking,” Takemichi murmured, playing with his food. His hunger was fading as his thoughts got louder.
“You know I’m starting to think your soulmate is Mikey,” Hakkai mumbles, “I mean he takes a whole bunch of hits,”
“No,” Takemichi stated, shaking his head, “This guy got a tattoo, I felt,” Hakkai looked defeated.
Well it was worth a shot.
“Well you’re in luck,” Baji says cheerfully, “You know what kind’ve people take hits and have tattoos?”
“Who?”
“Gangsters!” Takemichi let out a groan. He’d figured that. Well it was that or a hot mafia guy but who knows.
“Who knows it could be Mitsuya,” Draken finally said, glancing at the lilac haired boy. He was met with a glare in return as Mitsuya kicked Draken in the shins. Before he could yell anything, Takemichi let out a yelp, bending down to hold his leg.
“Son of a-,” Takemichi caught himself, glaring at the ceiling before pinching himself. Draken felt a very sharp pain in his forearm, he didn’t react to it. Just stared in shock at Mitsuya, then Takemichi who made himself bleed.
“You have to stop doing that!” Emma scolded, grabbing a napkin, “Takemichi you aren’t helping yourself!”
“I know I know!” the boy sighed, not realizing the looks Mitsuya and Draken were giving him.
“Shinichiro!” Mikey yelled into the bike shop, everyone trailing behind him, “You here?”
“In the back!”
Takemichi hadn’t been around Shinichiro too much since he came back. After hearing what could've happened with Baji and Kazutora, he was always tense. But that didn’t stop Shinichiro from trying to ease with him, telling him that if he ever needed a bike he knew who to call.
“You guys need something?” Shinichiro asks, putting down a wrench.
“Yeah intel,” Mikey says, looking him straight in the eyes, “Moebius causing trouble, we need to know everything we can about them before we fight,” Shinichiro’s eyebrows creased. He hasn’t been in the gang world for awhile. But hopefully Wakasa knew something.
“Uh sure, I’ll see what I can find, are you sure you guys want to do this?” Most of them nodded, which made Shinichiro sighed.
“What about you Takemichi, you in on this one?” the boy shook his head, smiling a bit, “Uh no thanks, I’m staying out,”
“Atta boy!” Shinichiro said, ruffling Takemichi’s hair. The room was still tense though. Moebius was a gang that played like adults. Shinichiro probably is going to land up going against this but at this point they didn’t care.
“So,” Chifuyu said, breaking the tension, “Any soulmate updates?” Draken let out this choked sound, while Takemichi seemed to turn away. Mitsuya could only sigh and shake his head.
There was a pest that must be squashed.
“I think,” Takemichi states once everyone left, “That I found my soulmate,” Shinichiro spat out his water, cursing silently at another thing to clean up.
“You what?”
“Oh it’s nothing really, just something I noticed,”
“And you’re telling me this?” Shinichiro asks, eyebrows raising.
“Well see if I tell Baji or Mikey, they’ll be stupid and if I tell sweet dear Emma she might throw me a bachelor party, you wouldn’t want that on your card now would you?” Takemichi grinned, pulling people’s legs was his favorite.
“Ok ok ok, continue,” Shinichiro surrendered, waving a pretend white flag.
“Earlier today, Emma’s hulk grip got my wrist and when she was dragging me away, I saw Draken rubbing his wrist,” Takemichi explained, “He didn’t seem to be doing it earlier,”
“Didn’t they just come back from a fight,” Shinichiro pointed out, shrinking under Takemichi’s glare.
“I thought that, but then I remembered I felt pain during their fight! It can’t be a nothing!” he smiled at himself, “I just wish he’d say something,”
“Maybe he doesn’t know!”
“But I’ve been pinching myself!” Takemichi huffed, causing Shinichiro to malfunction. “You what? That’s like self-harm!”
“I’ve heard it from Emma already,” Shinichiro shook his head, “That doesn't matter, why don’t you just talk to him,”
“But that isn’t,” Takemichi stopped, tapping his chin, “Romantic!”
“Neither is pinching yourself,” This wasn’t going anywhere. Takemichi seemed as if he was trying to end the pain he’s been going through.
“Look,” Shinichiro said, leaning on a bike, “Confess or tell him at the festival, there will be fireworks and all that jazz, romantic enough?” Takemichi gave him a pointed look.
“Fine, but your buying me new clothes,”
"I-You need to stay away from Emma!"
It had been a few days since their talk, now it was the day of the festival. Toman had been busy though, Moebius tried attacking a friend of Pah the other day.
Draken had been avoiding Mitsuya, who was adamant to talk about Takemichi. Whatever it was that happened the other day, Draken wanted to forget it. He didn’t want a soulmate, he didn’t want to restrict himself.
But Takemichi, maybe just maybe there could be a chance-
No no no, not losing morals over a nice ass.
“How about after all this ends, we all have a normal conversation like normal human beings,” Mitsuya stated, blocking him from leaving the bathroom one day.
“What makes you think Mikey or Baji are considered normal human beings,”
“What makes you think I’m talking about Mikey or Baji,” Draken bit back a laugh at that. If there was one thing he and Mistuya always got along on, was teasing the others.
“If it’s about Takemichi, drop it please,” he says, pushing past him. “Draken it’s worth a shot and you know it!”
“Quit bugging me will ya? I gotta go help the girls set up tonight!” That wasn’t a lie, the girls wanted to go out tonight, so they all needed help closing the shop. Draken was only there in case some asshole came to force themselves through.
He slowly left Mitsuya behind, though the other wanted to follow him he decided not to. Draken was grateful for that.
From handling Mikey, helping the girls, and Toman in general, he never got alone time. So why would he need a soulmate?
He could take care of everything by himself.
The path back to his home was a bit long, he didn’t mind. Draken liked to clear his mind.
Was there a chance that he could have actually met his soulmate? The person that god assigned just for him. After losing his parents, he never thought having someone who’s supposed to stick with you could exist.
And that person could be Takemichi, sweet, sassy, pretty Takemichi.
“Kenny!” one of the girls called out, her head was poking out from the window, “Pick up the pace will you! We don’t have all day!”
Takemichi peedled fast on his bike, he had to somehow corner Draken. Hopefully Emma would drag Mikey off to some sort of stall so he wouldn’t get in the way.
‘How is he going to react?’ Takemichi thought, the worry of rejection filling his stomach. If he got rejected it was fine. He had crushes before, and Draken, Draken could live his life. Away from Takemichi.
“Man fuck this,” he muttered, pulling over to the side. His anxiety was bubbling all over, this was scary.
What if Takemichi lands up alone, the rejection of a soulmate can scar people's hearts. Maybe this wasn’t a good idea. But if he didn’t go to the festival Emma and Baji might swat his house. Takemichi sighed, he looked at the time. He didn’t have that much left.
This wasn’t fair, life was supposed to give you a soulmate and let it go on from there. Why did humans have to figure it out for themselves?
But maybe that was the beauty of it, discovering love. Finding the person who is there to make you happy. That’s what Takemichi wanted from a soulmate. Not the constant pain he’s lived with for years. Love.
Love, Love, Love. “What a beautiful thing~,” Takemichi sighed, moving his bike, “If only it was easy to achieve, like a sunset,” speaking of sunsets, it was beginning to get dark.
He was running out of time.
“Hey Mikey, did Draken say he had to do something before this?” Baji asked, walking through the site of the festival. Mikey shrugged, more distracted by the food stalls.
“He said something about helping a friend out,” Mitsuya answers, not about to expose where Draken lived, “But he’ll be here soon,”
“What about Takemichi?” Chifuyu said, seeing that Emma had arrived alone. No one said anything as they haven’t seen the boy in the past few days. He’d been off too when they last saw him.
“Uh, I think he’s coming,” Hakkai mutteres, trying to scratch his brain for any memory of it. Unfortunately the boy's mind went blank after he crashed into a girl.
“Which one of you boys wants to take me to the bathroom? Mikey is too busy to give a crap about his sister,” Emma huffed, only to roll her eyes when most of them turned away.
“I’ll take ya Emma,” Mitsuya sighed, whacking Hakkai in the back of the head for being scared, “This is why you idiots are all single!” Emma stuck out her tongue, grabbing Mitsuya’s hand and going the other direction.
They walked in silence. Mitsuya was clearly itching to tell her something while Emma stared at him with concern.
She thought he was on something.
“So, Takemitchy is coming, right?” Mitsuya asks, scratching the back of his neck, “I don’t want anything bad to happen,”
“He can take care of himself,” Emma said, smirking, “After all, he sure knows how to pinch~,” they stopped walking. A sign pointing to the bathroom was before them.
“I’ll wait for you,” Mitsuya mumbled, looking away, “Just don’t kill anyone with your nail flier, please,” Emma laughed, clutching her purse as she huddled to the bathroom. Mitsuya looked around, there was a smoking section. He squinted a bit closer, was that someone hiding?
Yeah that was someone hiding.
“Hey dude, what are you doing?” he asked, scaring the guy. Said guy jumped, stumbling back and landing on his butt.
“M-Mitsuya-kun!” Takemitchy? “I-I just got here and was uh preparing!”
“Cool,” Mitsuya said slowly, looking him up and down, “Wait where were you? I thought you were coming with Emma?”
“Well I was,” Takemichi says, kicking the dirt, “But I-I got distracted,” Mitsuya got ready to say something else, but Takemichi suddenly stubbled over.
“Woah there,” the lilac boy said, grabbing Takemichi who was gripping his stomach, “Why don’t you lay down?”
“I-I can’t!” Takemichi cried out, leaning over, “Draken-kun is hurt! We have to help him!”
“What are you talking about? What happened to Draken?” Takemichi looked up at him in fear.
“I think, I think someone stabbed him,”
Draken was strong.
He did whatever he could to hold Toman up.
He can take a stab wound.
“Would you look at that! The great Draken has fallen!” Kiyomasa cackled, leaning into Draken’s face, “This is my revenge! You ruined my life!”
“Will you shut it you big baby,” Draken grunted, trying to stand up, “I didn’t do shit, you just can’t handle that your actions have consequences,” that gained him a kick to his wound.
“GO TO HELL YOU BASTARD!” Kiyomasa was wild. It was clear he had lost it since he went this far.
‘I’m gonna die here if I don’t do something,’ Draken thinks, trying to regain his balance. Kiyomasa was unstable so Draken can’t read what might happen next.
“Draken-kun!” a voice called out to him. Kiyomasa’s body made a quick turn, letting out a growl when he saw a boy running to them.
“Draken-kun! I knew you weren’t ok!” Takemichi yells, stumbling a bit. His skin was pale, he looked like he was going to pass out.
“Who the hell are you?” Kiyomasa barked out, “Scram before you join this guy!” Takemichi gave him a weak glare, before trying to run over to Draken.
“What are you doing?” Draken muttered, moving away from Takemichi, “You get killed!”
“I can’t let you die idiot! Think about how everyone would feel!” Draken didn’t like to get yelled at, but Takemichi had a point.
He didn’t want to see anyone cry.
“What about you soulmate?” Takemichi’s voice was soft, it cracked, “Do you know the type of feeling someone gets hit with when their soulmate dies? Cause I don’t and I do not want to find out!”
“What are you trying to say Takemitchy,” Draken grunted out, not meeting the boy's eyes.
“I think, I think I’m your soulmate Draken-kun,” he didn’t want to hear it. He tried to drown it out. He didn’t notice that Takemichi had left his side. He didn’t see Takemichi charge at Kiyomasa.
His eyes, however, snapped open when he felt a burning pain in his hand.
Takemichi was hurt.
Takemichi never felt like this before.
He felt lightheaded, his heart felt like it was about to stop. There was this ache in his abdomen.
His soulmate was dying.
“Leave him alone!” Takemichi yelled, charging at Kiyomasa, “What makes you think playing around with knives solves anything!”
“I warned you to leave!” Kiyomasa shouted back, taking out the knife. A chill ran down Takemichi’s spine. There was no way this would end well.
“Oh shut up!” There was a quick swoosh and Takemichi bit his tongue to keep him from screaming. The knife stuck out like a sore thumb, and Takemichi had to make the painful move of yanking it out.
He let out a scream, cradling his hand as Kiyomasa laughed at him. Behind him Draken let out a grunt, his hand rubbing the other one as he slumped against the wall.
‘I-I can’t let Draken-kun die! He doesn’t deserve to die!’ Takemichi thought, tears streaming down his face, ‘I’ll save him! No matter what!’
“Go die asshole!” Takemichi yelled, once again charging at Kiyomasa. He jumped into the air, using his unharmed hand to grab at the olders hair.
Kiyomasa let out a yelp, trying to grab Takemichi’s wrist as he shook his head around. Takemichi used this moment to wrap his sore legs around Kiyomasa’s neck. The ladder began to choke, nails digging into Takemichi’s thighs.
“How could you be so evil!” Takemichi cried out, squeezing even harder, “Draken-kun didn’t deserve this!”
Kiyomasa tried to say something, but that came out as a gargle as his eyes rolled back as his legs gave out. Takemichi let out a scream, he leaped off of Kiyomasas shoulders. The feeling of blood loss making his legs collapse on him.
In the distance he heard the ambulance, smiling to himself he crawled to Draken.
“Draken-kun,” Takemichi mumbled, shaking the boy, “Wake up, I won!” Draken let out a groan, eyes barely looking at Takemichi.
“Great job,” Draken whispered back, smirking, “I’m glad my soulmate isn’t a wuss,” Takemichi smiled at that. His forehead pressed up against Draken’s, desperate to feel the soulmate connection.
“I’m so glad, I finally met you,”
The paramedics said words Takemichi couldn’t understand. Was Draken ok? Was he alive?
Of course he was alive.
He had to be.
“Kid, I need to check out your hand,” one of them said, guiding him away from the ambulance.
“I need to go with him,” Takemichi mumbled, legs wobbling, “He’s my soulmate,” the man who was looking over his hand stopped. He let out a curse under his breath, taking out his walkie talkie and began to say something into it.
Takemichi continued to stare at the scene in front of him. They were hooking Draken up into wires, checking the knife.
“Ok you can go with him” the paramedic told him, trying to smile, “Though you’ll have to get your hand checked out,” Takemichi mindlessly nodded, leaning on the older man's support to bring him to the vehicle.
“They’re soulmates, so he’s probably feeling the blood loss,” he was. His vision was so blurry but his mind kept on telling him to focus on one thing.
Draken
The boy was barely alive.
Takemichi could feel it.
He felt his heart beat so slow, he felt his brain struggle to think.
He felt his death.
“You’re going to be ok,” Takemichi whispered, holding Draken’s bloody hand, “We’ll be ok,” Draken couldn’t reply because of the mask on his face, but he looked up at Takemichi, eyes brimming with tears.
He saw the paramedics prepare for something called soulmate shock. It’s when a soulmate dies, you feel it.
Takemichi didn’t know how it felt. He didn’t want to find out.
He can’t bear the pain anymore.
When Mikey got to the hospital, his heart dropped to his stomach.
Takemichi was being held by a nurse, screaming and clutching his chest. The nurse didn’t flinch as he screamed, only cradled him.
“What the hell is going on?” Baji asked, eyes wide at the state of his childhood friend.
“He’s in soulmate shock,” a bystander explain, “Came in here with another kid an hour ago, still hasn’t stopped screaming,”
“Oh my god,” Mitsuya muttered, sliding against the walls.
Soulmate shock.
Draken was dead.
“Where the hell are the fucking doctors?” Pah barked out, punching something into his phone, “Why the fuck aren’t they helping him!”
“You can’t stop soulmate shock,” Mucho grunted, “He’ll have to ride it out,”
No one said anything. Takemichi’s screams were only a reminder that their friend was dead.
It was a gut twisting fact. Mikey felt like throwing up.
Draken was dead.
The same Draken who came after Takemichi. Who made him not feel lonely.
It couldn’t be true.
“Can we see him?” Mikey asks, looking at another nurse's eyes.
“I’m sorry hon, I think they’re still working on him,”
Still working on him?
“I thought he was dead,” Mikey spat out harshly, glaring at the women.
“They will still try to get the heart restarted,” the nurse explained, writing something down on a notepad, “Don’t lose hope yet,”
Draken’s eyes shot open. He couldn’t move.
Takemichi.
Where was Takemichi?
“Ken-chin,” Mikey? Draken turned his head the best he could. The blond was sitting there, staring at him sadly.
“You really scared me,” Mikey continued, tilting his head, “And you hurt Takemichi,”
Draken tried to talk, but Mikey didn’t give him a chance. “I guess you two are soulmates,” he mumbled, looking away, “I’m happy for you guys, you’ll treat him well and he’ll baby you,” Mikey stood up to leave.
Draken wanted to call out to him, but he didn’t. Instead he let his friend leave as someone else took his place.
Takemichi Hanagaki sat next to him, red eyes and red face.
“Takemitchy,” Draken coughed out, holding a hand out, “You’re here,”
“Of course I am,” Takemichi said, grasping his hand. It was warm, so warm. The other one was bandaged, a smiley face drawn on it. They sat in silence, taking in each other's presence.
“When, when your heart stopped,” Takemichi stated, looking into Draken’s eyes, “It hurt, it burned as if my body was collapsing on itself,”
“But that wasn’t the scary thing,” he whispered, griping Drakens hand, “The thought that you were dead, that I didn’t save you, that scared me,”
“Never do it again,”
Draken gripped back, “I won’t, I’m not going anywhere,”
So began the takeover of Takemichi.
He came in everyday, with fresh meals, magazines, books, everything.
“This is disgusting,” Baji stated, watching Takemichi decorate Draken’s new wheelchair.
“Agreed, the favoritism is real,” Kazutora added, causing Mitsuya to shake his head.
“They’re soulmates!”
“And! Tora doesn’t treat me like that!”
“Cause you don’t do shit to deserve it!” Takemichi ignored all of them, instead he picked up a picnic basket, placing it in the wheelchair before going to Draken’s room.
Right, they were going on a picnic.
Mitsuya was ready to throw up.
He had to admit, seeing Draken being pampered made him bitter. Takemichi really has been sent into overdrive.
“Do you have your meds Ken?”
Bleh
“Yeah I do Michi, don’t worry about me-,”
“Stay still, I have to put sunscreen on you!” Takemichi rummaged through the bag full of stuff that he’s been carrying around for days.
“You’re such a worry wot, I better get my freedom back once I’m cleared from here,” Draken sighed, in which Takemichi pouted.
“Are you saying I’m being too pushy? Touchy?”
“No! You’re looking too much into this!” They got into another argument. A small one of course but it always ends with Takemichi getting cuddles.
Little shit always gets his way.
When Draken got back home, Takemichi practically moved in. The girls of course didn’t care, they loved Takemichi and cooed at him taking care of Draken.
He stayed in Draken’s room, slept in the same bed as him, and would give him pepper kisses to wake him up. It was going well. They were both happy.
Until Takemichi got hurt.
It was terrible, one of the guys was leaving after a session and saw Takemichi. He wanted something “extra” so he tried it out with Takemichi.
It ended with Draken kicking the guy's ass and Takemichi was bruised all over his arms from trying to get away.
“I’m ok!” Takemichi whined, trying to wiggle out of Draken’s grasp, “Lemme go!”
“No,” Draken stated, yanking the smaller boy back down onto his lap, “You are accident prone, if I let you go the earth might eat you,”
“You are so paranoid!”
“You’re one to talk!”
“You two are so annoying!” Chifuyu groaned, slamming his head against the couch pillow. They all decided to hang out at Mikey’s, even though Shinichiro had tried to join.
“Draken let him live, you might suffocate him if this continues,” Baji comments, Kazutora who was next to him nodded.
“This is my payback,” Draken stated, digging his face into Takemichi's neck, “Your turn to be mothered,” Takemichi gave up on his struggle. Instead his face turned beat red when he felt Draken’s breath on his neck.
“I’m going to barf,” Smiley muttered, though his smile was still on his face when he saw how bashful Angry and Hakkai looked. Mikey hadn’t said anything, a smile was just painted on his face as everyone interacted.
Mitsuya wasn’t too worried, he did have a feeling that Mikey thought he was Takemichi’s soulmate. And if it was true, his heart might have been crushed.
But Mikey was too selfless to say anything, so they’ll never know the truth. All they knew was that Takemichi and Draken were working great together.
Either it was Takemichi cuddling Draken after a fight or Draken saving Takemichi from a bully.
Or saving each other's lives.
Mitsuya cringed at that one. It was funny how such sad moments bring out the happy ones.
When Draken got a cold, Takemichi felt the cold. The boy had to struggle with the feeling of a fever, but was adamant that he should take care of Draken. He made chicken soup, even knitted a blanket.
Toman was not having it.
They came over to try to get Takemichi to rest but it ended with him locking them out. Nevertheless Mucho knows how to pick locks and they were back inside after 20 minutes.
Now for the head part, to get Takemichi into bed. That was proven difficult. Takemichi was like a cat, clawing at the door frame when Hakkai tried to yank him inside the bedroom, hiding under the table when Mitsuya and Baji tried to make him eat.
He even hissed at Mikey who tried to put a blanket on him.
However, there was one time where Takemichi would rest. And that was during cuddle time with Draken. The younger boy will cling to him, falling asleep for a good hour or two as they just enjoy each other's presence. Sanzu somehow managed to trick Takemichi into taking sleeping pills, so he was knocked out after a few minutes.
Toman took whatever time they had to clean the house up, make food, and sort the meds out. Mikey, Baji, and Hakkai took the honors of cleaning out the fridge so Mitsuya and the twins could supply it with something other than soup. It was hard, since they hadn’t really ever been to the house. And Emma was blowing up their phones because they left her behind.
But they did it, and in the end they got to see Takemichi and Draken at peace. Even with the running fevers the two were happy. Molded together as one.
It was beautiful. Draken never thought he’d meet his soulmate and yet here he was, in harmony with an angel.
Maybe life did do the hard work for you, even if there’s some backlash you end up finding the one. The one who shares the pain with you, the one who will always understand you.
They found each other, after years of that empty feeling. They were finally whole.
When Takemichi awokend, his body felt heavy. When he tried to move, he realized Draken was holding him down.
He didn’t mind. Just Draken being there made him happy. Takemichi leaned into his soulmates warmth, the feeling of the fever has left his body.
‘Your soulmate will never want a pathetic thing like you,’
‘They were wrong,’ Takemichi thought, Draken did want him. Draken made him happy, made him feel like he was needed.
Takemichi had been running away for a long time, but now he has a reason to stay. He wouldn’t get pushed around anymore, someone was here to protect him.
A tear went down Takemichi’s face.
He wasn’t alone anymore. He finally had his prince charming.
Takemichi’s fairy tail was finally coming to it’s happy ever after. The beginning was over, the villain was slayed.
And no, if Shinichiro says he slayed the big bad guy, he didn’t. Takemichi likes to say he’s the little dwarf running around somewhere. And Emma was Takemichi best friend who would probably steal the spotlight.
Takemichi smiled, nudging Draken off of him. The sleeping giant rolled over, but continued to sleep. In his head Takemichi let out a sigh, he’d have to wash the germ-filled sheets later. And he’d have to get Draken to take a bath.
Gross.
There was a note on the nightstand however, Takemichi had a feeling Toman wrote it. He decided to not to read it, not ready for the headache it will probably bring. Still Takemichi didn’t leave the room, instead he pulled out his puzzle. It had been awhile since he worked on it, given everything that has happened and the fact he hasn’t been in his house.
Takemichi began, putting pieces together. His eyes occasionally flicked back to Draken, who was still asleep.
However it didn’t bother him, Takemichi just smiled.
Nothing could make him happier.
