What if in the training camp arc, a UA student swapped Toga with the thirteen years old Izuku in the past?

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Work Text:

Izuku was at the rooftop, left alone by the number one hero. Then he was in the forest, facing off three aggressive UA students and he himself in an unfamiliar body.

“Okay, I think she’s neutralized.” The oranged-haired one said.

The pink-cheeked one questioned anxiety, “What does that mean? What do we do about it?”

“She’s a different person with a different set of memories, that’s what my quirk does. But just in case, we should probably leave her.”

“Wait! What’s happening?”

“Just wait here! You’ll be fine!” The pink-skinned one called back as the three of them scurried away, “We’ll talk about this later but our class mates needs us now!”

Izuku was half-tempted to follow them. This is the most confusing quirk event he had ever faced. But stopped himself.

They are hero students after all, maybe he should listen.

He glanced around the surroundings. There was signs of blood on the trees and the faint smell of smoke in the air—not exactly the most reassuring combination. He is a her for now.

He’s also wearing school uniform and holding a needle connected to the machine on his back.

He paced back and forth, muttering to the air, “Okay, everything is okay…”

Eventually he settled down beside a tree, sitting, and leaning on the trunk. Needle set aside.

Now he just have to wait.

Bits and pieces of images started to flash through his mind, as if the original owner of the body’s memory was coming back slowly. Izuku focused on that to the mean time the Hero student return.

One second she was in the forest in the night, and the next she was on the rooftop, the dipping sun granting everything an orange glow. Machine replaced by a yellow backpack, needles turned into a burnt notebook with the No. 1 hero’s sign scrawled across the pages.

There wasn’t notice of a hallucination quirk amongst the student group, Toga thought, casually putting the ruined notebook into the backpack and walked to the edge of the rooftop, taking the image below.

No forest in sight.

Himiko whined.

His head throbbed and ached, and eventually, he decided to walk around a bit. If they can locate him in the wood, surely it didn’t matter if he wanders a bit. If they cannot, then it means they are lying, never meant to come back and therefor he has nothing to wait for.

Making up his mind, Izuku began to walk towards the commotion, hoping they would gave him some kind of idea of what is going on. Just like the times when he tracked hero fights, he told himself, in order to gain some peace in mind in the middle of an foreign ground.

It wasn’t long before she got bored and started reading the burnt notebook, the only interesting thing in this middle schooler’s backpack. It was a little hard, considering it was partially drenched in water.

Whoever the notebook owner is, must’ve hate All Might very much to the point that having All Might sign on his notebook was enough to guarantee this kind of treatment. She thought.

Luckily only the latter part of the book was soaked up in water.

And she started reading.

The closer to the commotion, the more careful he got. At some point almost completely muted out his own footstep and using the surrounding plants to hide himself.

Then he found a phone on the ground. Someone must have dropped them in a hurry.

Izuku picked up the phone. The screen lit up.

And the date was a year in the future.

He dropped the phone in shock.

“Who’s there?!”

It was, to be frank, a very detailed work. Almost nefariously so. And so interesting. The sketch adding to the fun of reading them over.

It’s like this person had been tracking and observing the heroes and the people on the street—this is fabulous.

Turning over to the first page, ignoring the big “Future Hero Plan” title, there’s a nearly unrecognizable author name.

Midoriya Izuku.

He head snapped to the direction of the voice, meeting glowing red eyes and floating hair of an angered man before he was sent back to his own body, leaning against a wall and holding his own notebook.

Like the previous thing was nothing but a feverish dream.

As soon as she got back to her own body, Himiko sprinted away from the professional hero. Luckily, the other was too focus on locating and protecting his student to gave chase.

Midoriya Izuku. She mused. What an adorable name.

Midoriya Izuku. Age 13. Died in villain attack from the way home. Burned to death.

Gangly, tall, hollow. The creature looked like a walking brach, Its emaciated skin like dried out grapes. Unlike other noumu, this one’s brain is covered in dark helmet. Toxic green, illuminating eyes and a wide mouth full of exposed sharp teeth.

The creature was not like anything she’d seen, pretty in its own way.

“Here,” Shigaraki scratched his necks, “I think you’re looking for this one. The Doctor’s informer or something. Don’t bring it to the battle. Doctor will be pissed if anything’s missing.”

“Izuku.” She said dreamily.

“Yeah, whatever. I think The Shy Guy is cooler.”

Notes:

Izuku was turned into a noumu ages ago, just wait for Toga to actually seek him out.

I imagine Izuku's noumu form like Enderman. And Shigaraki is making an SCP reference.

The Shy Guy is a scary amazing SCP.
