The air he was breathing froze in his throat and Robbie's eyes were wide when he looked at Sportacus again. "...What did you just say?"
Those damnable blue eyes were focused intently on him and he wanted to hide from them. It felt too revealing to be seen by them, that had always been a problem between them. Robbie took a step back when Sportacus sighed. "Robbie," he began, his voice back to quiet. "Please let me help you."

Summary
Something very strange is happening to Robbie Rotten.
It starts with agreeing to help a child with a school project. A child. Helping. Because the snooty boy, Sticky or whatever, wants to interview him for Careers Day and what kind of a villain would he be if he didn't take every opportunity to talk about himself? But somehow this leads to Sportacus visiting, and volunteering to teach classes, and feeling things that aren't spite or smug self-satisfaction.
That's the word. Feelings.
Robbie's having feelings and he hates them.

What are you supposed to do when your entire family is cursed by a faerie and her stupid little rhyme (There always seems to be a stupid little rhyme) indicates that a hero is supposed to save you?
Especially when you don't believe in heroes. They don't exist, so why should you believe in them.
