“Not. Ogling,” Mike grits out as Hopper pushes his elbows down not-so-gently. “And would you stop manhandling me?” He wishes Will were the one teaching him instead. He wouldn’t mind Will’s hands on-

“I’m sorry,” Will says again, just to make sure Mike knows, and it comes out more sensical this time, his voice croaking and worn out.
He can feel the brush of Mike’s chin on the crown of his head when Mike shakes his head. “Don’t be,” he replies, and he sounds certain. There’s a beat of silence, before he slowly questions, “Feel better?”
Will swallows, and gives a slow nod. Mike doesn’t let go.
Will wakes up from a nightmare, and Mike keeps him close.

“No idea what you’re talking about,” Mike says, and his embarrassing insistence is worth it when Will lets out a light laugh, soft and summery. Mike readjusts himself, just to make sure his legs don’t go entirely numb when he’s crouched over Will like this, torsos pressed together and arms slotted together. “No idea.”
“Uh-huh.” A smile teases at Will’s lips, amusement in his voice. It’s all too attractive. “Alright, tough guy.”
“That’s me,” Mike beams, and Will’s smile tastes sweet when he comes in close for a kiss, catching him open-mouthed.
Will's powers seem to go haywire every time they kiss.

In which Lucas has a thing for Bowie, Will has a thing for Han Solo, Mike has a thing for Will, and El should never be allowed to watch Star Wars again.

It’s just Mike's luck that, out of all the empty tables in this place, he managed to fall into an occupied one, he realises, as he looks down at the sketchbook laying on the table. Right by its side, a half full glass of iced coffee that begins wobbling with the force of his clumsiness.
As Mike glances up, he makes eye contact with who might just be the hottest damn guy that Mike has ever seen in his twenty six years of existence. Again, just his luck.
Mike Wheeler and Will Byers are just two strangers in a cafe far away from home, until spilled coffee becomes the catalyst for something more.

“I can see you, you know.” Will finally mutters, keeping his eyes on the reflection of the man.
The man freezes, his eyes widening as he stares back in shock. He pushes up off the doorframe and walks–no, glides–his way closer to Will. It takes all of Will’s self-control to not up and run, standing still as the man draws closer. He leans in, right up to Will’s ear.
“Can you, now?” he asks, cold air brushing against Will’s neck. Will shivers. His voice is teasing, with an undertone of shock laced in. His hair falls over Will’s shoulder, tickling the skin of Will’s exposed bicep.
“Are you real?” Will asks, furrowing his eyebrows at their reflection, “Or am I just going crazy?”
The man straightens up and leans against the wall beside them, flashing Will a smile in the mirror. “I have that effect on people.”

Mike caps the cup and slides it across the pickup counter to Will, following it up with a wrapped straw and his wrapped lemon loaf immediately after. “Medium iced chai with oat milk and brown sugar syrup, and a lemon loaf for yellow flannel guy!”
Will grabs his straw, shooting a disapproving look at Mike as he carefully unwraps it. “Remind me to never wear this flannel in public again.” He grabs his drink, slipping his straw into it with steady hands.
“Nah, it looks nice on you. Don’t let me stop you, Just Will.” Mike is grinning so hard his face hurts. He’s more awake than he was previously, most of his exhaustion washing away throughout this interaction.
Will sighs, his cheeks going slightly red at Mike’s compliment, bringing his straw to his pink lips and taking a small sip. Mike watches Will’s gaze travel down to Mike’s chest, his eyes stopping on his name tag for only a second before they dip slightly lower. His lips quirk up into a small smile as he swallows his sip of chai. “I like your pin, by the way.”

“I wish you didn’t,” Will readjusts. He brings up a hand to hold Mike’s face again, fingers a little damp where they press against his cheek, his jaw. Mike wants to lean into it. “He isn’t – he doesn’t bother me anymore, you know. What he says. It doesn’t matter. He doesn’t matter.”
Mike shrugs. “I don’t regret it,” he says, and Will leans away, looks at him properly. “I’d do it again.”
Mike gets hurt, and Will fixes him up, in more ways than one.
