“Izu! Hitoshi!” The sound of something falling caused Keigo to laugh. He knew it was Hitoshi rolling off his bed, too tired to even think about putting his feet down first.
It took the baby birds a couple of seconds before they were in front of the hero. Izuku had on a shirt that was too large and Hitoshi was in a sweatshirt.
“What's up Papa Bird?” Izuku asked lazily, leaning against his brother. They had both been napping.
“I’m heading out on a mission alright?” The boys straightened, their eyes unfocused. “Rumi will check up on you guys after her portals, my doordash is all yours. Touya will be checking up on you guys in the mornings, making sure you get to school.” Izuku didn’t like that he was talking long term.
Izuku and Hitoshi both looked at each other, concerned and fearful in their eyes. Abandonment issue is what their therapist had called it. “How long are you going to be gone?” Hitoshi finally voiced his concern. He could already feel his hands start to shake.
“I’ll be gone for three week.” Izuku nodded, not catching Keigo’s eyes. He didn’t want the bird to see the tears threatening to fall. Izu knew this mission was for the hero commission. He knew those missions were dangerous and only half the heroes usually come back.
“Promise to come home.” Izuku’s voice was thick. Finally Izuku looked up, eyes wide with fear as tears dripped down his face. Keigo melted at the sight of him.
“Oh baby bird.” Keigo quickly pulled the two into a hug. He could feel that they were both shaking. “I will try my hardest to get home, alright?” He felt their head nod into his chest. Keigo knew how hard it was for his baby birds. Their life wasn’t the nicest before they showed up at his agency.
“When you get home can we stay in the nest all day?” Hitoshi’s muffled voice asked. He sounded like a little child who was on the verge of a meltdown.
“Of course.” Keigo pulled away from them, guilt eating away at his chest. “Now you two behave, and your friends can only stay till 10, no later.” They nodded. Keigo sighed before kissing his baby bird's foreheads.
He then left their house, duffle bag hitting his arm every time he took a step. Keigo wondered how this mission was going to affect his kids.
---
“Come on Hito!” Izuku laughed as he pulled the larger boy into the video game store. Hitoshi just rolled his eyes and followed behind the energetic greenette.
“What game are we looking for?” Hitoshi asked as Izuku let him go, and looked at games for their switch. Izuku didn’t answer, but his eyes lit up and he grabbed the game.
“Just dance xxxx!”
“Alright.” They walked over to the register, waiting for someone to ring them up.
“Ready?” A worker asked and the boys nodded, handing over the game. Hitoshi was the one to pay this time, seeing how Izu had paid for the last game they got.
“Breaking news coming from the PSHC.” Hitoshi and Izuku froze, their eyes catching the TV right above them. “Pro Hero Hawks was killed this morning. He was on a mission and was ambushed. No visitors were allowed during his final moments.”
Shell shocked, Izuku grabbed the game and left. Hitoshi numbly followed beside him.
Izuku caught sight of all the reporters in front of their apartment complex. Izuku’s feeling slammed back into him, causing his knees to give out. He cried out, sounding like someone had taken a knife to his heart. Hitoshi, with his own tears flowing, sat next to Izu. Crying along with him.
The reports quickly spotted the teens and raced over to them. “How do you feel!?”
“Are you going back into the system?!”
“Were you aware the commission didn’t like that quirkless one?!”
“Do you think it’s the reason he died?!”
Izuku curled into himself more, still sobbing loudly. He wanted to go home, he wanted his papa bird. Keigo always knew how to make him feel better.
Keigo is dead
“Move out the way!” Touya pushed past the reporters, standing in front of the two fallen boys. “There kids! Leave them alone!” He yelled as he picked Izuku up, who clinged onto him. Hitoshi hides his face in Touya’s back, not wanting to face their current situation.
“He promised!” Hitoshi sobbed once they got into the penthouse. The older teen completely fell apart. “He promised he’d come home!” Hitoshi was gripping at his chest, feeling as if it was squeezing, not allowing air into his lungs.
Touya sat down, Izuku still sobbing into his shoulder, and pulled Hitoshi to his side. And that's how Rumi found them two hours later, the teens had cried themself to sleep.
“I’ll order dinner.” She mumbled, moving to sit on the couch, where a calico laid.
---
“I'm their other father!” Izuku rubbed his eyes, pain still stabbing into his chest. “It’s on their adoption paper!” Izuku froze before shaking Hitoshi away. This couldn’t be happening, they were going back into the system.
“I’m sorry, but we don’t see your signature, making it void.” A calm and sarcastic voice answered back. “They have to leave, we already have a foster home ready.” Hitoshi and Izuku felt their blood run cold. This was it, they were being taken away.
“This was planned.” Touya growled out, as the boys quickly packed two bags. They trusted Touya with their lives, he was their dad, even if they never told him. But he couldn’t win this fight, not this time.
Izuku gritted his teeth as he heard a commotion from the living room. Their door was flung open, to reveal a man in a dark suit. Muzzle in his hands. Hitoshi straightened up when he caught sight of the contraption.
“Shinso-” Hitoshi flinched back, not used to his old last name. “You have a villainous quirk that we know you’ve used.” The man took another step into their shared room, causing the boys to take a step back. Izuku was trying to keep his breathing calm, not to set off Hitoshi. Who was on the verge of a panic attack.
“And Midoriya.” Izuku knew where he was going. His dad was the leader of a villain group. “Your father was a villain, leading you down that road. You became an arsonist Vigilante who has stabbed many victims.”
Izuku glared at the man, who was spitting utter bullshit. “What the fuck are you talk about!” The greenette yelled as he took a step closer to the man. “They weren’t victims! Those were criminals who killed, raped and stole form others!” Izuku’s chest was heaving as he felt his fight and flight instincts roar in his ears.
The man didn’t say anything as he touched Izuku, causing the boy to gasp out in pain. “What the fuck! Let him go, asshole!” Hitoshi yelled as he tried to get the nicely dressed man to let go. Izuku let out another whimper of pain.
Hitoshi grunted as a woman pushed him into the wall, forcing the muzzle over his face. Cuffs were forced onto Izuku, who was finally free from the quirk. Izu’s face was flushed, and he looked like he was ready to pass out any second.
The two were pushed out of their room, hands behind their backs. Touya watched with wide eyes, not being able to move from his spot on the ground. The first man's hand got close to Izuku’s face and the greenette bit him, drawing blood.
“You brat!” A muzzle was forced on the ex- vigilantes face, except he didn’t fight it. Izuku’s eyes shifted from a dark green to a light toxic looking green.
“Get those off of them.” Touya growled, not liking his kids to have those muzzles on.
“Todoroki Touya, we have looked past your relationship with the hero Hawks. But we will not let you fall into the trap of these two.” Hitoshi and Izuku were shoved to a stop in front of the fallen hero. “Shinso brainwashed his parents, causing them to crash their car. It killed them and everyone in the other car.” Hito looked away from Touya, not wanting to see the sympathetic look.
“Midoriya’s father is the villain Dragon. He had hurt and killed victims as the vigilante Free.” Izuku’s eyes narrowed, looking at the hero. “He has set fires to five corporation buildings, burning them to the ground. He attacked Death Arms, temporarily paralyzing for two days.” Angry tears fell from Izuku’s eyes, not wanting to meet Touya. He didn’t want to see the disappointment and disgust.
“We are being gracious with moving them and not taking them to Taratus where they belong.” Hitoshi took in a shaky breath as the two teens were pulled out of the house. “Hawks was sent to kill them, but he took them in and adopted them insead.” A silent sob left Hitoshi, his own father figure was sent out to kill him.
Izuku lost himself in his own head. Not being able to handle all of the emotions. Keeping his mouth shut as people tried to ask him questions, shoving a camera into his face.
Hitoshi vaguely remembers how they ended up in the US. Coming to just before being drugged once more.
“Welcome to Spring Blossom Psychiatric Institution.” The boys stared at the lady in front of them. Hitoshi’s muzzle stayed on, while Izuku had chains attached to his feet. He could run away if he wanted to. The cuff behind his back moved to the front, only so he could still feed himself.
“You will spend a week in isolation while we assess your mental state before moving you in with a roommate.” The blue haired woman turned to Hitoshi, her eyes narrowing on him. “Shinso, you will stay in isolation, we don’t want you to use your quirk on others.” With that the brothers were separated.
“I’ve got a quirkless one for ya doc.” Izuku looked up, meeting the eyes of an old man, hairs gray and stringy. His eyes were pitch black, he had no white, they were just dark black holes. His face gravitated towards the ground.
“Wonderful. Anyone missing him?” Izuku felt a shiver run up his spine. Why would he need to know if someone would miss him?
“Nope, his brother is just down the hall.” The doctor smiled, showing on his yellow teeth, some missing.
“Wonderful.”
The hallways echoed with screams that night. No one said a thing, some crying silently along with. This wasn’t some place you escape, you die and then you leave. That's the only way out.
Death
----
“Where the fuck are my kids.”
It had been six months since the start of Keigo’s mission. Faking his death to take down the Dragon’s gang. Dismantling it from the inside out.
Six months since Hitoshi and Izuku had been put back into the system. Both lost. Touya had tried to find them, he had tried to track them down, to bring them home.
But the Commission made sure they couldn’t be found, labeling them as villains and dead. He didn’t want to believe it, he didn’t believe they’d died. Touya knew they’d go down swinging, causing a scene.
“Touya!” The man looked up at Keigo, his face twisted in anger and fear. Keigo had trusted Touya and Rumi, he knew the commission was going to do something. He had trusted them!
“The commission took them. Throw them back into the system.” The words tumbled out of the white haired man's mouth. “They’d taken my quirk when it happened, shoving me to the ground with a gravity quirk. I tried so fucking hard.” Yes, Keigo was mad, but he knew this wasn’t Touya’s fault.
“I can’t find them.” Touya whispered as he looked down at his hands. “Some forms say they're dead, others label them runaways or villains.” Touya fingernails dug into his palms. Blood started dripping onto the white carpet.
“We’ll find them.” Keigo’s voice cut through the heavy thoughts going through Touya’s head. “It’s time to get the rat involved.”

“ Stop! Please! It hurts! ”
“Stop whining or we’ll kill your brother.”
--
“ Please let me see Toshi! ”
“No, you’re not finished.”
--
“Bring the purple one in.”
“ Hito! ”
“ Zu!”
“Didn’t think he’d be able to hide his modifications.”
“What did you do to him!”
“What, we did the same thing with you.”
--
“Welcome Viper, Leo.”
“ Madam president. ”
“They aren’t fully brainwashed, if they hear the words [retracted] we’ll lose them.”
“Understood. Nice job training.”
“Only the best for you madam.”
--
“Your first target is the Hero Killer, Akaguro Chizome. His quirk allows him to paralyze people by digesting their blood.”
“ Fast or slow madam? ”
“Thank you for asking Viper, slow.”
“ Yes madam. ”
--
“Pro Hero Eraserhead, Aizawa Shouta. His quirk allows him to erase other quirks. He approves of vigilantes. That will not do, make sure his body is found in an alleyway.”
“ Yes madam. ”
--
“You failed and your identities were exposed. Take them back to Spring Blossom Psychiatric Institution.”
“ No! ”
“Please!”
--
“That was your 50th target, congratulations. Your next target is a man named Todoroki Touya, Pro Hero Phoenix. Quirk, Cremation.”
--
Another six month passed, a whole year since Hitoshi and Izuku had gone missing.
“Viper come on, targets to the left.” Hitoshi grumbled over to his brother, who was just picking at his claws. He now had an undercut, his purple hair falling around his face. Vibrant scars littered his face from the muzzle that stayed on for a year.
Izuku had green and black wings on his back, tiger ears on his head. His eyes now looked more like vibrant green viper eyes, sharp fangs touched his bottom lip.
“Why do I have to kill this one?” Izuku asked, his voice was deeper than it had been before. “I did the last three.” Hitoshi huffed before his face shifted, fangs touched his bottom lip. Shorter fangs heading to his top lip, eyes shifted to cat like. Purple tufts of hair framed his face as tan ears popped from his head.
“Fine Viper, but you get the next one.” Izuku rolled his eyes before looking back at their target. The man had pure white hair, and was standing next to a winged man. Why the commission wanted them dead was a mystery, but they learned not to ask questions.
“Whatever Leo.” The purple haired assassin growled at the shorter boy before stalking down the man. His ears twitch every time a sound is made.
“ Viper, the target is with a new target. Name Takami Keigo, he is your assignment.” Izuku groaned, wings flapping in aggravation. He just wanted to target off, not gain another one.
Izuku made sure his wings were tucked tightly to his back, before making his way towards Hitoshi. The purple haired boy waited for Izuku, before the two pounced.
“The fuck?!” They heard as blue flames sprouted from the white haired man. This alerted the man next to him, who took to the skys. Izu smirked before opening his wings, shooting himself into the sky.
Two feathers sent Izuku into the ground, pinning his wings. “Leo!” Izu called out to his brother, afraid of spiking. This wasn’t how it was supposed to end. They couldn’t go back to Spring Blossom, he wouldn’t make it another night in that place.
“Viper!” Hitoshi called back as he also got pinned to the ground by feathers. Hitoshi struggled to get fear, growling and hissing at the white haired man.
“T-Toshi.”
“Hush it’s ok now Baby birds.” Hitoshi and Izuku’s eyes got wide and they started shaking their heads. Hitoshi groaned, rubbing his head once the feathers retracted.
“P-papa bird?” Purple questioned as he blinked a couple of times, eyes still cat-like. No, Keigo died, he had died and left Hitoshi. There was no way the man was standing in front of him. Alive and well.
Izuku let out a deafening scream as he gripped his head. Pain exploding behind his eyes and above his throat. “No, no, no no! Dead! He’s dead! We’re dead!” The greenette cried out as the pain began to leave. Everything was clear as day once more, including the memories of being experimented on.
The day he got his wings, the pain of viper DNA and poison being pumped into his body. “Toshi.” Izuku whined as the feathers moved, letting him sit up. He rolled his shoulders and wings before folding them onto his back.
“Hey Izu?”
“Hum?”
The two looked at each other before standing up. Their eyes met and they held a silent conversation. Well to Touya and Keigo, they were silent.
“ I can’t believe they took us, making us assassins. ” Hitoshi's voice popped into Izuku’s head. Izuku inclined his head in agreement. There was no way they truly wanted them for nothing more. Not after losing to the Hawks, they took his kids insead.
“ I know, but know we’ve got our Papa bird back, and that means the commission is down. ” Smiles stretched over their faces, eyes still locked. Touya and Keigo shared a look, both wondering what was happening with their boys. “ We are finally free. ”
“ Which means we can go home. ” They nodded before barriling into Keigo and Touya. Knocking the two back a couple of steps. They weren’t as light as they used to be. Hitoshi and Izuku gained weight and muscle.
“Can we go home?”
“Please.” Keigo smiled as he pulled his baby birds closer to him. Their hands are no longer soft, but callused and hard.
“Of course.” They pulled away and Hitoshi moved over to Izuku, who flared out his wings. “I am so grooming your wings when we get home.” Izuku laughed, causing his wings to shake some, showing he was happy. Keigo cooed and Izuku chirped back.
“Now we have two birds.” Touya depanned, causing Hitoshi to break out laughing. He clutched his sides as he keeled over.
“You- you have no idea!” Hito giggled as he looked over at his brother. “Don’t let him bite you though.” Hitoshi took a deep breath before putting his hand into Izuku’s mouth. The greenette glared at him as Hitoshi showed off his fangs.
“There's a reason his name was Viper.” Izuku nipped at Hitoshi's hand, causing Hitoshi to smack him. “They made sure I was immune before sending us out.” Izuku glared again at the taller boy, before his eyes gleamed.
Izuku started scratching the top of Hitoshi’s head, right where his ears popped up. The purple haired boy started purring loudly, leaning into Izuku’s hand.
“And there go my heart.”
The little family burted out laughing once more. Their hearts warm and minds happy, they were together once more.
