Work Text:
It was funny how life worked. Having grown up in the heart of San Diego, James had barely seen stars through the neon lights and coastal smog. When he left a crumbling Vancouver for the war, reapers blocked out the sky. And although serving on Shepard’s Normandy team meant that James had now seen stars from every corner of this galaxy, during the last push in London, he thought he’d never see them again. Now here he was on a Rio beach, night waves crashing, adoring the stars reflected in Rosa’s eyes as she smiled up at him years later.
