    Summary

    Chrom's father is dead, poisoned at the hand of an unknown assassin. Now, Emmeryn holds the throne and rank of Exalt, inheriting a broken legacy and dangerous political climate.

    To make things worse, the secretive country of Plegia has asked for a member of the royal family to visit their capital and meet their mysterious leader. Chrom is sent on a mission to this harsh country under the guise of discussing trade treaties, but is that all there is to this?
