“Miss Novak? Care to explain what is going on?”
“I walked through the rain to get here this morning Your Honor…”
Casey knows she is soaked through and clearly not dressed entirely properly for court, but she has to admit the warmth of Dani’s jacket and jeans is a lot nicer than her wet suit. She is barely able to look the judge in the eye, but she finds, when she does, she is smiling.
Permission granted to continue, she tries her case, then, when she’s finally allowed home, she lets herself relax a little. Dani smirks at her a little when she finally gets home, smiling at the sight of Casey curled up in just her jacket, clearly warmer and happy.
“Someone looks happier…”
“Mmm, might steal your jacket.”
Dani laughs then, shutting and locking the door fully behind herself and moving to join Casey.
“Well, only if you promise to stop walking in the rain, I could drive you to work you know…”
