Work Text:
Nathan lately had been catching glances from Warren Graham, the fucking nerd. In no way did it feel flattering. First of all, he had no business staring at him. And second of all, he was fucking weird.
Whenever he passed the hallways, Warren's eyes followed him everywhere. It creeped him out. His first thought was that Warren was a faggot or something. Well, in reality, it was his only thought. No boy stared at him like that.
It's not like it was a huge problem as he could threaten him any day, and at one point he got over it.
It was a constant cycle. He walked past Warren and Max, and the other boy stared. Occasionally he would also look back. To which Warren responded with a bashful look, trying to cover his face. But he made it too obvious that even Max noticed.
It brought satisfaction to him. How he had the geek hot and bothered for him. But of course, it wasn't an achievement, it was the stupid nerd. It was the fact that someone who hated him turned their act around. And THAT was something.
Nathan was satisfied each time he passed by. A smirk was placed perfectly on his lips.
And today was no different. He had finished class, deciding not to ditch as much. Just so he could see the pathetic face on the bitch who he made hard.
He walked outside the classroom, hands in his pockets. He had a small smile on his face as Victoria approached him. She had her hands on her hips, "You look happy." She simply said. Nathan snickered, "I've got some business, the usual you know."
"Oh I know," She looked behind her back and over at Warren and Max. Both were happily talking about something. But as if Nathan gave a shit, he was there to get what he wanted.
She turned to look back at Nathan, obviously amused at how much it got him going. It was pretty pathetic on his part as well, but did he care? He was Nathan fucking Prescott. He could care less of what everyone thought of him
Victoria finally spoke and smirked, "I'll see you later then. Text me, alright?" She waved goodbye before leaving. And before he knew it, she was out of sight. It was a good thing she didn't stay long. The late bell had started to ring and Warren and Max were starting to leave.
But this time he wasn't going to be satisfied with something simple. So he walked up to them and gave a menacing glare. "Well if it isn't Max and her little boy toy. Why the fuck are you guys in such a hurry?"
By the time he started talking, everyone had already left. Perfect.
"Move dude. We're gonna be late to class."
"As if I gave a shit fuckwad. You can spare a few minutes can't you."
"Actually no, we can't asshole. Let us go." Max was one of the bravest people he knew. All up in his face. She didn't know her place. Stupid bitch.
"What if I don't want to. Gonna report me to the principal?"
"Oh, I will. Don't you dare try me, Nathan Prescott." She said his name in a whisper. It made him even more irritated. He'd wish the bitch just fucked off for once instead of pestering him.
"I fucking dare you bitch." Nathan glared her down. Completely forgetting Warren was in between them.
"Max we should just go. We're already really late." He quickly pulled her aside and started to guide her away from Nathan. Nathan yelled at them as they left, "Runaway fuckers! As if you'd ever mess with me!" He huffed away in a rage. That didn't go as he planned.
Fuuuuuck him and his bitch. As if I gave a shit what either of them do.
Nathan walked out of the school and went straight to his dorm. He was bored as fuck. He could go to his classes and do shit for once but fuck all of that, he thought. He wasn't in the mood for anything anymore.
He pondered on texting Victoria. But. She was in photography class, and God knows she'd kill him for bothering her in her favorite class. So he just settled on doing nothing.
"What a boring fucking morning." He kicked a rock onto the other side of the grass.
He walked up on the steps to his dorm. The walk felt long, which usually didn't happen. It just made him angrier. Had he taken his meds? Fuck, he probably didn't.
He walked around the dorms and into his. He quietly closed the door behind him and plopped right onto his bed, shoes and all. He wasn't exactly tired but he wasn't energized either. What a ROUGH fucking morning. (He corrected himself from earlier.)
But there was nothing rough about it. It was just that he didn't get what he wanted. And that bothered him. Max and her fucking.. whatthefuckever, I'll shut her up soon.
He stood up on his bed and checked his phone, 11:45 AM. It was incredibly early to not be doing any interesting shit. He wanted to go back and give it another try. With that weirdo, that is. God, I sound so fucking gay.
He got up from his bed and looked over at his nightstand. He had forgotten to take his meds. A singular pill lay on a piece of napkin, accompanied by a glass of water. He sighed, clearly irritated.
But he put the pill at the roof of his tongue, took the glass of water, and swallowed. Though he hated taking medicine due to the horrible taste and side effects he sometimes had, it did make him feel better. But still, he wished he didn't have to take any medication. His dad always bothered him about it.
Did you take your pill? Why do you keep forgetting? You're a young adult. It was super fucking annoying hearing him repeat himself over and over again.
He opened the door and closed it quietly again. Careful not to alert anyone. But who would get him in fucking trouble anyways, everyone was afraid of him. If anyone dared to challenge him, they'd 100% lose.
He made his way down the hallway, making no noise whatsoever. He was very stealthy. He walked down the stairs just as quietly and walked out the door.
The warm sun hit his face. It made him squint. He began walking over to the school building. Class was about to end soon anyway. Maybe I can catch up. And I'll finally get what the fuck I needed.
With hands in his pockets, he entered the building. He had Chemistry right now, and half an hour left of it. "Only noon, man fuck that." Despite not wanting to do anything, he made his way to Chemistry. For once, he wasn't high either. Late, but not high.
He made his way over to his class, careful not to attract attention. But unfortunately, everyone in the fucking school was nosy and stared at Nathan as he opened the door.
Everyone was in different seats. It confused the shit out of him.
The teacher cleared her throat and guided him to the back. The only empty seat was next to Warren
Fucking great.
He was sitting next to the person that bothered him the most. Other than Warren always staring at him with a tint of red on his cheeks, he was annoying as fuck.
They both talked quietly.
"So.. Nathan. Now that we're partners, we have to get along,"
"As if we fucking do. We just need to do work and that's it. Don't bother me with your friendly bullshit."
"I'm just trying to be nice. But you make it hard."
"Why do you think that is."
"Because-"
"Rhetorical question dumbass."
After that, they both sat in silence. But Nathan didn't care, and quite frankly, he enjoyed it. There was one problem though, the nerd kept glancing over at him.
He tried his best not to notice him. Though they both already knew something was going on, he wasn't gay or anything. He just enjoyed the attention Maxs' boy toy gave him.
He caught one of Warren's stares and looked back at him. He turned his head to look at him, "Is there something on my face fucker?"
"No, it's just-"
"What?"
"You're just-"
"If you're not gonna spit anything interesting out, then don't even say shit to me, fucking nerd."
"You're just really good-looking. I hadn't noticed till recently but you know I don't like boys or anything. At least I think-"
"Asshole, I know that you know I've noticed. Don't even try hiding it with me. You might as well say you get a boner,"
"No, it's not like that I promise-"
"Whatthefuckever. Just hide it better."
"Wait what."
Nathan didn't say anything more, completely satisfied with his response. They sat there in silence again. Letting the teacher talk about whatever the fuck she was talking about.
Though soon after, that conversation would change Warren and his' rivalry.
Well, it wasn't even a rivalry anymore. They started talking as friends. (Even if sometimes Nathan crossed the line with his whole Prescott attitude.) And soon, began dating. It was weird finding out that they both had crushes on each other. It was a bit embarrassing as well.
All ended well though. Victoria fully supported them and Max, while confused, did so as well. Nathan just had a hard time coming to terms with it. But overall, it was a happy ending for both of them.
