She fled down the stairs. Her crimson red dress billowing behind her, blending in perfectly with the opulent red and gold palace room. Father was mad with her, she was sure of it. How could she fail a function such as this? All the firebending in the world wouldn’t save her from her own awkwardness. Azula wiped the tears from her face. Never again would she fail like this. Bright white flames sparked from her palms, the first time they’d ever been this bright.
She fled down the stairs. Her bloodied red armor clanking for everyone to hear, blending in perfectly with the crimson soaked floors. Father was going to be mad with her, if he ever heard from this defeat. How could she let the earthbenders get to her regiment? Even her perfect firebending couldn’t save her soldiers from getting smashed to pulp. Azula didn’t have any tears left to cry. In anger, her bright blue fire engulfed the village of their crushing defeat.
She fled down the stairs. Her emerald green disguise trailing behind her, blending in perfectly with Ba Sing Se society. Father was going to be mad with her, when the word would come to him. How could she let the Earth King escape? Her firebending had failed against the avatar. She didn’t know how to cry anymore. Feeling the frustration and dread build in her stomach, she released it in electric blue lightning.
She fled down the stairs. Her gown bright white, the color of mourning of a life that could have been. Alarmed voices could be heard in the background. Zuzu would be mad with her, but he wouldn’t do anything. How utterly had she failed, that she should listen to him? Being the best firebender to ever live didn’t matter, for she knew now she couldn’t fight the whole country. When, not if, she was caught, Azula would go with her keepers with a blank face. She had forgotten what crying was. Her hands remained empty of fire, for she felt no warmth in her soul.
