Work Text:
Showcasing love where other people can potentially view him? Yeah, he would rather chomp down on a cigar and that can be his meal for the week, a sentiment which Drake shares. Even in a darkened movie theatre where people are too absorbed in the screen and cramming down popcorn and candy to realize the two have worked up the courage to brush fingers?
Drake’s face is completely aglow. It is enough that an usher might come down the aisle and ask them to leave, mistaking him for having a cell phone. A popcorn bag sits on his lap, forgotten. Neither is really interested in food. Getting something feels right, though. People on dates do that. Paulie's original plan involved getting food and maybe having some water, too scared his body would choose a devastating scene to obnoxiously rumble to decide he should crawl over the crowded chairs for the bathroom.
No one’s watching them. No harm in leaning over and pressing into Drake's arm. Anxiety is his immediate response, back going ramrod straight. Then, Drakes takes a deep breath, sinking low and turning his head, his nose being tickled by Paulie's hair, inhaling the cigar smoke, wood, and cheap butter. Then, his lips are brushing his ear, drawing forth a shiver.
Here?
Now?
Drake’s voice is nearly drowned under a roar. “Paulie? Was Jurassic Park a poor movie choice?”
