Lizzie looked over at the elevator at Blacksite when she heard the elevator open. She smiled when she saw Red walking out wearing his best three piece suit and his black fedora. He walked up towards Lizzie and smiled softly.
Harold was in his office doing paperwork, Samar, Aram, and Ressler were doing last minute running around for Red's surprise party.
'Tell him tonight how you really feel. The worst thing he can say is that he doesn't have the same feelings.' She reminded herself "Where's Dembe?"
"He's running an errand for me. I don't have a Blacklister for you Lizzie. I came because I need to speak to you about something very important. Can we talk in private?" He asked softly since he didn't want her to worry about him.
"Yes, of course... is everything okay?"
Red nods his head softly before Lizzie walked towards her office. He followed behind her, once they reached her office he shut the door behind him.
'Just tell her you moron, she'll be supportive either way no matter how you feel. This is your one and only chance.' He scolded himself as he looked over at Lizzie
"What's up?" She asked
"Huh?" He asked trying to play stupid
She shook her head softly at him "You asked to speak in private. Now that we are, will you mind telling me what do you need to speak to me about?"
He let out a soft sigh "I... I need to tell you something."
She looked at him worried 'Is he sick? Is he dying before I even have a chance with him?' She asked herself "Yes sure, you can tell me anything Red you know that."
Red nods softly and swallowed before speaking "Just hear me out okay."
She smiled towards him "Always."
"I know that you recently just got a divorce with Tom... I have never lied to you and I never will lie to you Lizzie... I need you to know that I love you I always have since the day we met." He confessed his love to her
Lizzie's jaw dropped a little bit hearing him confessing his love to her. 'Holy shit, it wasn't just me that had feelings. You were the reason why I divorced Tom.' she thought to herself again. "Are you in love with me or do you just love me?" She asked him as her heart skipped a beat when he did confess his feelings towards her.
Red walked towards Lizzie "I'm in love with you, always have and I always will be. It broke my heart when you went home to Tom at night when we first met. When I told you that he wasn't the man you thought he was, I wasn't doing that so that you would be pissed at me. I also didn't just say that because I wanted to make my move towards you, I said that so that you could find out the truth about him yourself and I wanted to protect you."
"Oh Red." She sniffled during his explanation
'Way to go Ray, you made her cry.' his inner being scolded him again "This was a bad idea... I should go back to the car with Dembe." He turned around to leave when he felt someone grab his arm.
"No, you're not leaving. You have done your explanation now I need to do mine. Am I clear?"
"Crystal." He turned back around to face her
She reached for his hand "I love you too Red, I have been for the longest time. Tom is behind me now, you're my future Red. I know it won't be easy just like any relationship but if we trust each other we'll be unstoppable."
"You, wanna be in a relationship with me?" He asked just making sure he heard her right
"Yes, I sure do. I know there will be times where it'll be tough on both of us. Like do we inform the task force or do we keep this a secret from them?"
"I think we should tell them to be on the safe side. I'm not sure if our new relationship will impact my immunity agreement or your career. I sure wouldn't want you to lose your job because of our private relationship."
She smiled slightly at him "I can take care of myself when it comes to the job Red." She leaned into the side his neck to kiss the spot where she stabbed him with a pen.
He smiled at her gesture "Oh I know you can sweetie." 'It won't be hard to go undercover as a couple now.' He thought to himself as he felt her lips linger on the scar.
"I think our private conversation is over, birthday boy." She walked past him to go open her office door
He smirked softly and followed her out to the HUB.
While Lizzie and Red were confessing their love for one another, Ressler, Aram and Samar were done with last minute running around. Cooper was at the HUB waiting for the couple.
Lizzie and Red stopped right where they were when they saw the small group waiting for them. "So are we ready?" Cooper asked Lizzie
"Ready? For what?" Red asked not knowing that they had thrown him a small birthday party in the other room. Dembe, Glen and Baz had snucked in and waited with Ressler, Aram and Samar.
"You'll see babe." Lizzie purposely threw it out there
Red heard the pet name but decided not to hear it, Cooper on the other hand heard it and decided to ask them later.
Red let Cooper lead them into the other room where the light was off. Cooper waited until Red was in sight before he turned the light on into the room. Aram, Samar, Ressler, Dembe, Glen and Baz all got up and yelled surprise at him.
Red looked at them as he almost jumped in place as he wasn't expecting this at all. Lizzie looked over at him "Babe?" she whispered softly to him
"Yes?"
"Are you okay?" She asked wanting to make sure he wasn't to shocked with the little party they threw for him.
"I am, thank you love." Red leaned down to kiss her softly on her lips. Elizabeth took a second for her to respond to their first kiss as a couple. Everyone clapped for them as Ressler gave them a wolf whistle.
After the kiss broke Lizzie looked out at the group of people she called her family. "Are you all okay with us being together?" Everyone nods their heads yes. "What does this mean about Red's immunity agreement?" she asked
"It still stands, just don't be public about your relationship. I know that if we ever need anyone to go undercover as a couple. You two will be the ones to do so." Harold told them as he smiled.
"Thank you Harold." Red said as he wrapped his arm around Lizzie's waist. He kissed her head softly "Best birthday present ever." He whispered softly into her ear only for her to hear.
The rest of the party went well, Red got to relax with Lizzie in his arms. His friends were extremely happy that he finally got Elizabeth. He got some of his favorite foods for his birthday dinner, he had his friends around him but the most important thing was that he got Lizzie. Instead of spending his birthday in one of his safe houses getting drunk with his scotch, he was at Blacksite with the love of his life at his surprise birthday party. Whatelse could he ask for, he had his whole life next to him. He sure wasn't going to screw this relationship up, he knew he had to work harder to keep her close to him.
