404Error: Sorcerer not Found

Summary:

Stephen Strange shows up at New Asgard expecting a showdown. What he gets is far more confusing!

Notes:

When Laily read The Time Stone series, as a fellow StrangeFrost shipper she couldn’t help but make eyes at that kiss between Loki and Stephen at the beginning of In Time. She really wanted a Stephen POV snippet and offered some fanart as incentive. How could I say no?

Work Text:

Vishanti curse stubborn Asgardians. It was not three months before that Stephen had very firmly informed Thor Odinson that Loki was not welcome on this planet. Thor hadn’t appeared to be all that interested in Stephen’s reasoning, but he had listened and he had left with Loki. Stephen had thought that would be the end of it. Stephen should have known better.

Odin had died; Stephen had figured that out after the fact. Then Thor and Loki had left on the bifrost; that was easy enough to deduce, as the bifrost was less than subtle. Presumably, Thor should have been going to Asgard to take the throne as king and therefore be gone for good. Stephen could only hope that Loki would be thrown in a cell that could actually hold him this time.

Stephen had never suspected that the spaceship that touched down in Norway could be carrying two aliens who should have known better. The fact that they landed and started building without the slightest regard for anyone else on the planet? Knowing about Stephen’s list and his ability to track them? It was just rude and disrespectful. Stephen was Sorcerer Supreme and he needed to make that perfectly clear to these so-called gods.

Stephen strolled confidently out of his portal, his face like muder and the cloak of levitation billowing impressively behind him. Thor and Loki were in the center of things, surrounded by people and materials. Loki was the one who saw Stephen first. To the sorcerer’s surprise, Loki’s face lit up when he spotted Stephen. That should have been his first clue that something was terribly wrong.

Loki said something to Thor, who looked up with the concerned face Stephen had been expecting. Loki started walking towards Stephen with Thor following not far behind. The Asgardian mage looked far too cocky as he walked and Stephen couldn’t wait to take him down a peg.

Before Stephen could even open his mouth to lay into Loki, two hands were placed on his cheeks and his head was pulled slightly forward. Stephen had a moment of panic as he had not been expecting a physical attack rather than a magical one. Then Loki’s lips pressed to his.

Stephen gasped in complete shock as to what was going on, and Loki took that opportunity to bring his tongue into the fray. Stephen grabbed Loki’s shoulders, to pull him off, of course, but he was effectively stunned into submission. Before Stephen could properly get back his bearings and fight back, Loki was pulling away again.

Stephen could do no more than blink while waiting for his brain to come back online. He thanked the fact that he was straight, as he probably would have been even more distracted if he was attracted to men. Then again, he wasn’t entirely sure he was straight anymore. Loki was an excellent kisser. It was all very confusing.

“Now that I have your attention, let’s talk about the true threat to Earth, a being named Thanos.”
