Pretty

Summary:

Five times Langa thought Reki was Pretty and one time he told him

Work Text:

He cant really tell when the first time the thought that Reki was pretty crossed his mind.

I could have been the first time they met, it could have been the time Reki was talking about his new board.

The first time he acknowledges the fact is an unexciting process, yet that moment will be forever implanted in his brain.

Watching skating videos. Something they had done countless times.

Yet this was the thing that introduced the fact that he could possibly have a tiny crush on Reki.

The video started with a shakey hand pulling back from the camers, then the guy picked it up and rushed over to his friend.

Who, presumably was going to preform the trick.

Its a bit wobbly, and Langa almost wonders if they’re going to watch this guy fall flat on his face.

But when he lands it, Reki turns to look at him with a dazzling smile. His nose is scrunched up a bit with the force, and his eyes are pressed shut.

A few stray strands of hair had worked their way out from under his headband, and his hoodie is gathering slack in the neck, so it looks like its too big for him.

And Langa wonders if his heart stopped beating.

The hair that has yet to escape the bandana is tickling Langa’s cheek from where Reki sits next to him. And if he were to tilt his head sideways a little he could lay his head on Reki’s head.

Thr next video plays shortly, but Langa doesn’t see it. He’s not even really sure how many they watched that day.

Opting to spend time staring at Reki instead.

Because as much as Reki praised Langa for his height and broad shoulders, well he thinks Reki is the pretty one.

And he won’t let anything the other boy says stop him.

—————-

Reki blushes a lot.

Langa notices that as he watches the red head explain something to a classmate.

His hands are making wild, ecstatic gestures that almost hit the people around him.

The person getting lectured by the overly excited boy looks mildly fearful of the flying hands snd the ever-present smile adorned by Reki.

Langa has eyes for only one thing though.

The slight rosy tint coloring the tops of Reki’s cheeks, and brushing the bridge of his nose.

Langa had seen his mother apply blush and other types of makeup, but it looked like someone had picked up a makeup brush and brushed the sweetest shade of pink onto his face.

A finger poked his cheek and the concerned face of a classmate popped into veiw.

“You okay man?”

“Hmm? Oh, yeah. Sorry. Juat a bit-“ he makes a conscious effort not to glance back at Reki “-distracted I guess.”

The classmate laughs, thankfully not getting the meaning behind that.

“Yeah, no worries, it happens to the best of us. Right?”

He gets a small nid from Langa before turning away and leaving The star struck boy to continue staring.

Because Reki blushes a bit more then other people. But Langa loves it.

————————

Langa wonders what he did for the universe to hate him.

He briefly flashes back to the time he broke the pinky promise to Reki, but that shouldn’t constitute this!

He’s currently fixated on the two dots dancing around Reki’s ears.

Hes walked into three doors today, a pole, and skated into a wall.

And , to be honest, he doesn’t regret it one bit.

“Kid.”

He looks stunning.

“Kid!”

Even with such a small change he looks so different, and he looks so... pretty.

“KID!”

His head snapped up to look Joe in the eyes. “Huh?”

Joe smiled slightly and tapped Langa on the forehead. “Something going on up there kid?”

He watched a Joe’s eyes flickered over to where Reki sat, arguing about something with Miya. And turned back to him. Mirth lighting up in his eyes.

“Yeah.” Langa admitted.

Joe laughed, big and full. Drawing Cherry’s attention.

“What is the gorilla laughing about?”

Joe took a second to swipe the food he had just set in front of the pink haired man, starting a fight that would occupy his time for quite a bit.

Langa just turned to look at Reki again.

He was really pretty with earrings.

—————

It was gross how in love they were.

Miya watched as Langa hooked his eyes on the Red-haired slime once again.

Miya rolled his eyes as Langa fell deeper in love by the minute.

“What is it this time?”

“What?”

Miya pointed towards Reki, who was trying to figure out a move Cherry showed him.

“You always find a diffrent thing to like about him, so what is it today?”

Langa smiled in that distant way, that could give you cavities with how sweet it was.

“His eyes, they just seem so, vibrant today.”

Miya, squinted, trying to find something different about Reki’s eyes.

“I don’t see anything.”

Langa shrugged. “They just seem more.” Reki stumbled a bit, flashing a peace sigh when he didn’t fall over and gushing about it “Alive.”

“I guess I’m not really close enough to tell.”

“Well they are. And they’re beautiful.”

“I’ll take your word for it.”

——————

Reki is crying.

He’d been acting odd ever since Langa had left briefly to go to the bathroom during lunch. But niw they were back at his house and he was crying.

Langa scoot next to him, grabbing one of his hands from where it was folded on his knees.

“Whats wrong?” He asked.

Reki sniffed again and pulled a hand up to dry his tears.

“Its-its stupid, I wont bother you with it.” Langa frowned.

“Its not stupid if it makes you upset. So what is it?”

Reki laughed weakly. “Jus, just a couple of girls at linch saying that you shouldn’t be hanging out with me and stuff like that. And how you should be hanging with more attractive people.”

Langa frowned, letting go of the hand he was holding and tilting Reki’s jaw twoards him.

“I know, stupid. Rig-mph”

He tapped his lips against Reki’s in a quick peck.

“I don’t agree.”

Reki stared back at him with wide eyes.

“You’re so pretty Reki. Can I show you that?”

He nodded, breath stuttering.

Langa pressed another kiss to the top of Reki’s cheeks and over the bridge of his nose where his blush was most prominent.

“You look adorable when you blush. You know that?”

Reki shook his head. “More.” He whispered.

“Tell me more.”

Langa smailed. “ Your eyes light up like stars when you learn a new move or trick, and your earrings are wonderful.”

He pressed a kiss to Reki’s eyelid.

“And,” he kissed Reki’s temple. “You have no idea how much I really adore you.”

He kissed Reki again, letting him deepen or cut off the kiss at his convince.

They fell asleep that nigh on Reki’s bed, curled around each other and with matching smiles.
