Work Text:

“When’s Barry coming?” Oliver asked. John and Felicity had convinced him to take the weekend off from ‘vigilanteing’ and just allow himself to be little and relax. It had taken a long time and at least two arguments to convince him and he wasn’t particularly thrilled about it until they’d told him Barry Allen would be coming over for a sleepover! Oliver wasn’t the biggest fan of Barry when they’d first met, but after he got struck by lightning and became The Flash, they started to become closer. Barry was one of the only people Oliver trusted around him when he was little.

Felicity checked the time on her phone. She was trying to prepare for taking care of two children all weekend. Of course Diggle would help, but the boys were staying in her apartment in her spare room. Well, it wasn’t so much a spare room anymore as it was little Oliver’s bedroom.

“He should be here soon. Dig’s going to pick him up from the train station and bring him over here.” Barry wasn’t allowed to use his speed when he was little or he’d be there much faster.

“Okay. Can we make cookies before he gets here?”

“I guess so. Let’s go.”

The front door opened. Oliver immediately tensed up and turned to the door, but relaxed when he saw Barry run inside followed by Diggle.

“Hi, Ollie!” Barry exclaimed. His body was vibrating slightly from his excitement.

“Hi, Barry! Hi, John,” Oliver smiled. “We made cookies! Want one?”

Barry started to say yes, but Diggle interrupted. “Later. You know you’re not allowed to have cookies before dinner, Oliver.”

Oliver pouted. “It’s a special occasion….”

Both of the ‘adults’ laughed. “It’ll still be special after you eat dinner.”

“Fine. Come on, Bar, let’s go play in my room.”

Oliver stared up at the ceiling at night instead of sleeping. He couldn’t stop thinking about everything he should be doing. He should be out right now with his bow and arrow and Felicity in his ear, not laying in bed wearing a matching bear blanket sleeper with his friend after playing with Legos all day!

“I can hear you brooding from here,” Barry said from his sleeping bag.

Oliver rolled his eyes. “You’re supposed to be sleeping.”

“So’re you.

“Hmph. Go to sleep, Bear.”

Barry silently crawled over to Oliver’s bed, dragging his pillow with him. He slowly rose to his feet and whacked his friend with the pillow.

“Hey!” Oliver whisper-shouted. “Why’d you do that?!”

Barry backed up, hiding the pillow behind his back and grinned innocently. “Do what, Ollie?”

Oliver grabbed his own pillow and got out of bed. “You’re going down.”

Barry giggled. “Pillow fight!” He swung again and hit Oliver in the side.

Oliver made sure not to hit Barry too hard with the pillow. He knew he wouldn’t hurt him, but Barry’s headspace was younger than his and he tended to over exaggerate when he was little. He didn’t want Felicity to come in and have to separate them because Oliver made Barry cry.

“You’ll never get me!” Barry exclaimed, beginning to vibrate.

“Yes I will!”

“No you won’t!” Barry picked up a stuffed duck from the floor and threw it towards Oliver. It landed next to him.

“If we can add throwing stuffed animals to the pillow fight I’ll definitely win!” Oliver gathered as many soft toys as he could find into his arms.

Barry giggled and ran at a normal person’s speed to try to avoid the toys Oliver threw. Oliver hit him every time.

“I win!” Oliver said once all of the stuffed animals were on the opposite side of the room from being thrown.

Barry stuck his tongue out at him. “Only ‘cause I’m not allowed to go fast.”

Oliver huffed out a laugh which turned into a yawn. “We should see about that once and for all.” He yawned again. “Tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow,” Barry agreed. He collapsed next to Oliver on his bed. He gave him one more whack with the pillow. “I win,” he whispered before falling asleep.
