Once they found the first two connecting pieces, Ilya smiled.
“Like me and you, Moya Lyubov.”
He leaned towards Shane, giving him a kiss on the cheek and a nuzzle against his neck.
The little smiled back, leaning into the affection.
“Because we make a pretty picture together,” he replied, which made Ilya’s smile turn into a full on grin.Or, after an accident, Shane has a meltdown. Ilya, Anya and his puzzles are there to make it better.

It's not jealousy. Adrian is adamant about that. They are actually insisting that it’s not any emotion at all. Not even dislike. They are simply completely uninterested in anything that concerns “the human”.
Rocky believes them. Adrian has always been the level-headed one out of the two of them. They are too logical to be jealous. They acknowledge that Grace and Rocky have a special bond after everything they went through together and also understand that none of that will ever pose a threat to their relationship.
Neither are they heartless or ungrateful. They know that Grace is the only reason that Rocky is back at all, the only reason their star has stopped dying. Adrian has told Rocky again and again that they are grateful and happy and wish the alien no ill will. They even helped with the construction of the biodome.
And yet they have no desire to get to know Grace.

After they determine this is indeed the word Rocky’s using, Grace snorts. “No. Courtship is, like, old-fashioned dating. Very formal old-fashioned dating.”
“No, no.” Rocky gestures to what he gave Grace. “Is courtship. Trust.”
“I don’t know what this is, but it’s not courtship!” Grace holds up the honest-to-God padded handcuffs Rocky made for him. They jingle a little. “Explain how this is old-fashioned to you. Quickly.”
