Still, you sipped at it, slow and cautious, the carbonation fizzing faintly on your tongue while Pete’s hand absently traced circles against your hip. Between his little distractions and the pull of the game in front of you, you didn’t even notice how quickly the can emptied.
A while later, you tried to slip free, fingers gently curling around his wrists. “I should go use the bathroom—” you murmured, low enough not to draw the others’ attention.
Pete tightened his grip playfully, his lips brushing your ear. “Wait, don’t leave. I’m comfy.” He said it lightly, but the tone underneath was deliberate, the kind that made your stomach flip. “You can hold it ’til we get to the hotel, right?”
Your throat went dry at his words. His gaze was sly, daring, and you could hear the unspoken challenge threaded through it.
