Sucrose is a bit unsure of herself, sometimes. Just like everyone else.
She wasn’t sure if she wanted to go to the noon-party Mona invited her, or if she should wear her cottagecore beige dress and mushroom earrings, or if that too , like her shy personality, was a bit too much for other people to endure.
Sucrose did end up going to the party. The dating pool was small enough to convince her.
Still, once again doubt creeps into her being - should she really talk to this girl next to her?
What first called her attention was her golden eyes, a tad brighter than her own. Then her indigo hair cut into an uneven bob that matched her all black clothes with hints of mauve, red and yet again, gold. She looked expensive. A bit serious, but also just really hot.
Girls like that weren’t usually her type. But it didn’t hurt to try, right?
She decides to be discreet about it. And cliché.
“Uhm, by any chance… Do you listen to girl in red ?”
The girl turns around, looks up and down at her and then nods. Points at the series of black rings on her finger, that still manage to shine brightly.
“Being gay is expensive.” She smiles as she says it, offering her hand, “Sara. Kujou Sara. They/Them.”
“Just Sucrose is fine.”
She says and nods the moment she takes their hand and shakes it. They have a firm grip and a warm touch that it’s gone a little bit too soon.
“And what brings you here, sweet girl?”
Sara smiles, it’s the legendary smile on one side that she heard her friends talk about, and she can feel the blood rush to her face at the nickname.
“A friend of mine invited me. Said it was a safe space and well…”
Sucrose laughs nervously. She’s unsure if she should say she’s looking for someone as well.
Sara nods.
“I understand. Looking for someone to spend your time with?”
Ah - just how… How did they know?
Sara points to the entrance.
“The one at the door, my ex. The pink haired girl next to her, also my ex.” Sara smiles understandably, “There’s not that much new people in Teyvat.”
Sucrose laughs quietly and points to her friends with the twintails.
“There’s the one I used to date.”
Sara whistles and holds her hand, staring fondly at her. Sucrose no longer feels unsure as she squeezes back.
“It’s a wonder we met, then.”
