"... I think I brought too much food again." Y/N sighed under her breath.
It was lunchtime and she was laying out the tiered lunch box that she made the night before. We always met up in the courtyard where students would normally gather at this time.
The people around us started talking in a whisper but it wasn't because I was with her. Rather, it was because of the lunch she brought.
No matter how you look at it, it's just too much.
Savanaclaw has a notorious reputation for being troublemakers but what can I say? We're all just striving to be the head of the pack. That doesn't mean that people are very tolerant of our presence though. So normally, if someone wants to be close to any of us, they have to be mentally prepared.
After all, if you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.
However, this wasn't the case for Y/N. People stared at her just because of her comically large lunchbox.
I suppose I can see why— she has this fluffy aura coming out of her 24/7.
From the courtyard, you can observe the bustling crowds. You don't realize just how hectic the student life is until you sit back and watch everyone scramble.
On sunny days, it was the best place to meet up with friends and talk about how our classes went. It's more or less a daily picnic.
Y/N brought extra lunch and shared it with me. It all started when she caught me getting lunch from the school field.
"You can't just eat dandelions for lunch!"
Her expression was so glum, it almost seemed funny. Ever since then, she's invited me out to lunch and kept me fed.
She makes a lot of my favorite food and lets me eat more than half of her meal. At first, I didn't think much of it but now I'm conflicted by her kindness.
Over time, I started feeling guilty for taking advantage of her kind nature.
Can she even survive in the real world? Someone as gentle as her can't possibly be real.
I might be prying too much but I wanted to test her.
I noticed that she had a pork chop in her lunchbox.
"Can I take that pork chop?" I asked.
"Go ahead! It's fine."
She answered without hesitation.
"Hey, can I have that donut?" I asked as she was about to take a bite into a glazed donut.
"This one?" She stopped in her tracks.
She seemed surprised by my request. She looked at the donut and looked me in the eye. I gazed back at her, showing her that I was completely serious.
"Here," she smiled softly as handed me the sweet.
That was no problem too, huh? There's still no sign of her being annoyed. I think I'm the one getting annoyed at this point.
"Then.... Would it be okay for me to take the rest of the lunch?"
Her eyes widened as she studied my expression. She looked down at the food, frowned, and sighed.
"I'm sorry, I'll bring more food next time." Once more, she gave me a gentle smile.
She's worried that I wasn't full.
I didn't know if I wanted to laugh or cry but at the time, no words escaped from my mouth.
She's always like this. It's probably okay as long as I'm always beside her.
