Chapter Text
You had been a part of the outcode for as long as you could remember. You had no universe to call your own. You resided inside the Doodle Sphere, and spent your days jumping from universe to universe, exploring, learning, being bored out of your mind.
Being an outcode, you had a few powers that other humans didn't have. Besides universe jumping, you could also use telekinesis, and you could summon your own attacks.
Your best friend was a bright, cheerful skeleton names Sans. Everyone called him Ink, however.
Ink had been by your side since he'd found you, lost and cold and stranded in Mafiatale.
"Human. . ." The strange figure said in a kind voice. "Come out. . . C'mon, you'll freeze out here."
Slowly, you moved towards him.
He had bright happy eyes, one a blue star, the other a yellow circle. He smiled, a bright beaming smile.
"What's your name?"
"(Y/N)."
"Well, (Y/N), where's your home. It's late."
You didn't answer. There wasn't an answer.
He noticed your silence and tilted his head in consideration.
"Well, you should at least get out of the rain. Come with me. Do you like hot chocolate?"
You followed after him. What else could you do?
You watched and he grabbed the giant paintbrush he wore on his back.
He made a sweeping motion, and a strange puddle of...ink? Appeared on the floor.
"Hold on."
He jumped into the ink, pulling you behind him. You had appeared in a strange place you had never seen before.
"Welcome. . . to the Doodle Sphere."
"You can travel the universes too?"
"Ah, is that how you ended up in Mafiatale? Yes, I can, and so can you."
"Not. . . very well. I can only do it sometimes."
"Don't worry, (Y/N). I'll teach you!"
Since then, you'd been best friends. He had helped you create your own space in the Doodle Sphere, and with his help you had learned to control your power. Now, you jumped from universe to universe at your leisure. And you never visited that particular Mafiatale timeline again.
But being friends with Ink came his arch nemesis, a dark skeleton named Error Sans.
Error was glitchy. His skull was black and he had uneven eyesockets with mismatched pupils.
Besides that, he had what resembled tear-streaks underneath his eyes.
Ink had taught you how to fight, to defend the AUs as he himself did. He had never taken you on an actual mission, however, and you had never actually met Error.
You couldn't help but wonder why Error did it. Why did the destroy the 'glitches', entire worlds and countless lives?
Little did you know exactly what was about to transpire. And what was about to change.
