Work Text:
“Doc? What are you doing on the floor?” He flicked an ear at BDubs, huffing a quiet, content sigh.
“What does it look like I’m doing?” His boyfriend stepped in front of him, blocking the beam of sunlight and he finally opened his eyes to glare up at him.
“I am not staying up late again to get you to settle down.” He huffed again, shuffling sideways until he was in the sun again. “At least sleep in the bed.”
“No.” He knew it was a bad idea, he knew he’d be awake as soon as the sun set, sprinting around their base while his boyfriends tried to sleep, but he was so comfortable and didn’t want to move.
BDubs growled quietly, then there was a pair of arms around his waist as his boyfriend tried to hoist him off the ground. “Come on, into bed.” He didn’t even have to fight him, just go limp and let himself slide out of his grip.
“Careful, don’t throw your back out again.” His boyfriend gave up, dropping him momentarily and breathing heavily.
“You could help, y’know.” Doc flicked his ear at him again.
“Could.” BDubs huffed, and he heard him calling someone else.
“Hey Bubs, what’s up?”
“Hey Beefers, Doc’s ruining his sleep schedule again and he’s laying on the floor, can you come help me at least get him into bed?” Beef chuckled on the other end of the line, and Doc could almost see the eye roll.
“You say that like he’s not just going to move back as soon as we leave. Trust me, the only thing you can actually do right now is get him a couple pillows so he’s not sore and cranky later.” BDubs huffed again, then threw a blanket and a couple pillows at him, cackling when he hissed and flailed in surprise.
“Okay, thanks Beefers. Mind if I stay at your place tonight? I have the feeling we’re in for zoomies.” Beef laughed again, and this time he heard Etho snorting in the background.
“Yeah, no problem. Love you, see you later!” A pause, then an addition. “Love you too, Doccy.” He purred in response, and BDubs leaned down to scratch him behind the ears and press a kiss to his head. At least he was letting him sleep.

“Doccy? Do you have a minute?” He grumbled, burying his face in the carpet underneath him. “We really need to talk about your sleep schedule.” Fantastic, he was in trouble.
“What about it?” BDubs sat down, scratching gently at his fur and pulling his head into his lap.
“To be blunt, it sucks.” Figures. “Sometimes you sleep during the day, sometimes you sleep at night, sometimes you don’t sleep at all. We’re going to fix that.” Maybe if he hissed at him he’d go away. “Don’t give me that.” A pair of giant hands closed around his middle, lifting him off the floor and settling him in his nest. Great, he’d disturbed at least two of his boyfriends.
“Bubs and I have a present for you.” And the total was up to three. “Since you seem to prefer sleeping in the sunlight…” He heard a lever being flicked, and suddenly the nest was flooded with light and warmth. He looked up, trilling quietly in surprise when he found a lamp buzzing next to him. He blinked at BDubs, who was grinning smugly.
“How’s that work for you?” His boyfriend reached towards him, scratching between his shoulders and he butted his head against his arm, snuggling closer to all three of them as he purred loudly. “Now will you let us help fix your sleep schedule?” He nodded, curling up across his lap and kneading slowly at his leg. “Good. Go to sleep.” He nodded again, eyes slipping closed as the other three curled around him.
“Good night guys. Love you.” A hand scratched at the fur on his side, and he was asleep before he could hear the replies.
