Summary
There's one thing every Outsider that survived the maze has in common, the need to be free in the most basic sense of the word. Owen is no exception.
He's been living in Rivendell for two years, slowly earning enough money for a leg malunion surgery. He's happy. He's free. He even befriended Rivendells ruler, Scott. He does worry about the other though, Scott doesn't seem to be doing well.
Scott is tethering on the edge of snapping completely and he knows it. He's lost too many friends because of his stupid ice powers and Xornoth. He can't lose another one. He can't lose Owen too. He will make sure Owen doesn't leave him.
Or:
Scott kidnaps Owen. Owen is conflicted and Scott is mentally unstable.

Grian isn't avoiding meeting the Hermits... He just wants to wait a little longer. Maybe a month, or two.
Etho isn't avoiding meeting the new Hermit. He just needs some more time. Maybe a month, or two.
They accidentely meet and it doesn't go well. It gets worse.
Or: remember when Etho and Grian met on Hermitcraft S7 for the first time? Yeah I took that and added trauma. (Also moved it to season 6 but you saw nothing).
