Bubbles and Water

Summary:

Victor, Yuuri and Yuri all have a day off. Which is very rare. Victor decides it's time for them to do a deep cleaning of the apartment. It's clearly needed.

Or just some domestic fluff with Victor, his fiancé and their kind of adopted son.

Work Text:

It was one of the rare occurrences that the three of them had a day off at the same time. At first, they had no idea what to do with all that free time. The evening before their day off, Victor was looking around the kitchen as they ate. He realized they maybe hat themselves go a little bit during the last week or so. They were all busy people, and the days were only getting more hectic and cleaning up wasn’t anyone's priority at the moment.

“I know what we’ll do tomorrow.” He said out of nowhere.

Yuuri and Yuri paused their conversation and turned to him with twin questioning looks.

“We’re going to clean the whole apartment.” He said when he had their attention.

Yuuri’s eyes lit up in understanding as he also took in the state of their kitchen. The living room and their bedrooms weren’t in a better state. Yuri scrunched up his nose in distaste.

“Do we really have to?” He asked.

“Well, yes. We can’t keep living like that.” Victor said pointing at the pile of dirty dishes on the counter.

“Ok. Ok. I get it. Our place is filthy.” Yuri admitted.

“So, tomorrow is an apartment cleaning day. We’ll have so much fun.” Victor said with a smile.

“Speak for yourself.” Yuri mumbled but didn’t argue further.

Victor didn’t let Yuri’s grumpiness diminish his fun. He was already thinking of the playlist he could blast while they would spend their day cleaning.

***

The next morning, Victor woke up early. He looked to his side to see his fiancé still asleep. He smiled and pressed a kiss to Yuuri’s forehead before getting up. He put on some loose clothes and went to the kitchen to start on their breakfast and brew some coffee. He’ll let Yuri and his love sleep a while longer.

Once everything was ready, Victor went back to his bedroom. Yuuri was still in the same position he had left him in. Still, sound asleep. Victor smiled at the sight. Yuuri was always the most beautiful creature on earth, but he was particularly cute when he was sleeping. He looked so peaceful with his black fringe falling softly over his eyes. Victor was so lucky to wake to this sight every morning.

He approached the bed gently and crouched down so he was eye-level with the sleeping man. He cupped Yuuri’s cheeks in his hands and pressed a few butterfly kisses to his forehead and every single part of his face he could reach while staying away from Yuuri’s lips.

Yuuri groaned and scrunched up his face at the attention. Victor’s actions clearly tickled him.

“Yuuri.” Victor whispered between kisses. “It’s time to wake up my love.”

“Five more minutes.” Yuuri mumbled with his eyes still closed.

“I’m sorry honey, but no. Come on I made breakfast and there’s coffee ready.” Victor told him.

Yuuri sighed before opening his eyes. “Good morning.” He said as he blinked slowly at Victor.

“Good morning. Did you sleep well?”

“Hmmm. Of course.” Yuuri said before leaning up and brushing Victor’s lips with his own in a chaste kiss.

Victor responded to the kiss with enthusiasm and was about to deepen it when Yuuri pulled away and sat up in their bed.

“I heard you say something about coffee.” Yuuri said with a smirk.

Victor sighed fondly as he went back to his feet. “Yes, you tease. There’s a fresh pot in the kitchen. Get dressed I’ll go wake up Yuri.” Victor told him as he left the bedroom.

“Thanks, honey. You’re the best.” Victor heard Yuuri say his voice filled with contained laughter.

Victor shook his head and stopped at Yuri’s door. He knocked a few times first. He heard a faint grunt that if he tried hard enough, he could probably translate with actual words. But that would demand a great deal of effort. When he was still half asleep like that it was anyone’s guess if Yuri would speak in Russian, English or even Japanese now.

Victor pushed Yuri’s door open and was met with a teenager sprawled on his bed with Potya laying on his face. Victor huffed a laugh. Yuri was probably awake then. Otherwise, he would maybe have to worry that Yuri’s cat was trying to suffocate him.

“Good morning, Yuri!” Victor exclaimed as he entered the room.

“No.” Yuri mumbled; his voice muffled by Potya still laying on his face.

“Come on we all agreed we had to do a big clean-up today.” Victor said as he looked critically around Yuri’s room.

Yuri was usually pretty good with keeping his room clean, but at the moment there were training clothes all over the place. Even his desk was covered up in loose papers and a bunch of pens.

“There’s breakfast ready.” Victor tried again.

“Fine. Can you get the monster that’s falling asleep on my face?” Yuri asked with a sigh.

Victor chuckled as he picked up Potya. Yuri’s cat glared at Victor clearly the cat wasn’t pleased with being picked up from a comfortable bed. Yuri sat up and rubbed his eyes a few times while Victor put Potya on the ground.

“Get dressed. We’ll eat and get started.”

Victor exited Yuri’s room and joined his fiancé in the kitchen. Yuuri was also dressed comfortably with his glasses perched on his nose. He had a cup of coffee in his hands, and he handed one to Victor when he joined him.

“Thank you, love.” Victor said with a quick kiss.

“Ugh, it’s bad enough that I have to wake up for cleaning up I don’t need to see you two be lovey-dovey so early in the morning.” Yuri complained as he entered the kitchen.

“Good morning, Yuri.” Yuuri said with a sweet smile.

“Morning.” Yuri mumbled as he picked up a plate and started putting eggs and toasts in it.

Victor smiled. It had been such a welcomed change when Yuri and Yuuri had started to have this close relationship. It meant that Yuri had difficulties being rude to Yuuri now. It was sweet really.

They ate their breakfast while separating the rooms and the chores they had to do between the three of them. Of course, they started by doing all the dishes together once they were done eating.

Then Victor linked his phone to their Bluetooth speakers and blasted his cleaning-up playlist as they divided and conquered. Victor had fun. He could hear the other two in their respective rooms singing and he saw them dance once or twice when he passed in the hallway.

He was focusing on deep cleaning the kitchen while Yuuri was vacuuming the living room when Yuri came up to them.

“We’re out of laundry detergent.” He said.

“Then you can go and buy some.” Victor told him.

Yuri didn’t look so happy with the answer. Yuuri stopped the vacuum and joined them.

“I’ll come with you. I need a break.”

Yuri lit up at that and suddenly he was happy to go out for some errands.

“Ok. You both go and get some laundry detergent while I finish up in the kitchen.” Victor said.

They both nodded and got ready to go out. Victor yelled a goodbye over his shoulder when they were ready and went back to his cleaning.

He was finishing up wiping the countertops clean when he heard the door open and close again. Yuri and Yuuri entered the kitchen with bright smiles on their faces and with a bag each. Victor frowned. What did they end up buying for them to have two bags?

“Look, Victor.” Yuri said trusting a tiger plushy in Victor’s face.

“It’s very cute but don’t you have a lot of stuffed cats already?” Victor asked with a glance at his Fiancé.

“He saw the plushy at the store and he looked so cute with it in his arms I couldn’t tell him no.” Yuuri tried to justify himself.

“He’s got so many stuffed animals already.” Victor said face-palming.

“I got us another blanket too.” Yuri said way too proud of himself.

“We didn’t need another blanket.” Victor argued.

“But… it is very soft.” Yuri said taking the blanket out of the bag and handing it to Victor.

Victor rolled his eyes but still took the offered blanket. Shit, Yuri was right, it was very soft.

“Tell you bought sensible things that we need Yuuri.” Victor said as he gave the blanket back to Yuri.

“Of course. Look at our new succulent. I named him Steve.” Yuuri said with a smile and said succulent’s pot cradled in his hands.

Victor gave his fiancé a pointed look and glanced over Yuri’s shoulders at their living room. Said living room was starting to overflow with plants and succulents. Victor sighed. It was very cute that Yuuri liked plants so much, but he always forgot to take care of said plants. Which meant Victor always ended up taking care of them.

“Great. Another plant baby.” Victor said flatly.

“I knew you would agree!” Yuuri exclaimed with a wide smile.

Victor sighed not giving an answer to that. “Do you, at least, have laundry detergent in your bags?” He asked suddenly feeling very tired.

Yuuri and Yuri exchanged a look. Then they looked down at their respective bag.

“Shit.” Yuri cursed. “I knew we were forgetting something.”

“We forgot.” Yuuri gave his fiancé an apologetic smile.

Victor really wanted to be surprised by these turns of events, but he couldn’t. He should’ve known something like that would happen if he sent Yuuri and Yuri to the store together.

“Next time I’ll go myself.” Victor mumbled to himself.
