It's been a month since the two half-Saiyans 'grew three times their size' as Piccolo claimed when he had seen the boys. And while the rest of the Earth was resting peacefully, four exhausted parents struggle to keep their children in check. If they were normal teenagers, who couldn't fly and shoot ki blasts whenever you told them to do their chores, it would have been easy. The interesting thing was: Goten seemed to be having a harder time controlling himself. While Trunks was a problem because, well, used to be his child mischief now was bordering committing felonies - Goten was a literal bomb ready to explode at any moment. ChiChi has never screamed more in her own house. Trunks' tantrums were rarer but just as explosive. And the only people who could calm them down? Eachother. Yet, every time the teens got together it seemed to just be a disaster waiting to happen. It was hard to tell they were friends sometimes, with the way they went after each other throats sometimes - especially while sparring. An activity they did more often than ChiChi liked.
For all these reasons: Goten was grounded to his room.
But nothing, not even an angry mother could stop Trunks from stirring up trouble with the other. He was floating outside of the ravenette's window, smirking wide. Even if Goku sensed them leaving, he wouldn't tell - and he knew he had snuck past his father: because well, he was here and not being held by his tail. He stares through the dark window, the night around him was bright - where it would have been pitch black for anyone else. He could see the silhouette of Goten sleeping peacefully. He stared at the taller all curled up with a pillow a bit longer than he would like to admit. Trunks shook his head of lavender locks and swiped his bangs aside. His hair has been getting longer.
He taps on the window, spiking his energy softly. He watched Goten jump up instantly - completely calm, however. They knew each other's energy better than anything. They could sense each other for miles, which made games of hide and seek quite short. He slid open the window, trying to hide a lopsided grin.
"Trunks!" Goten whisper hissed, "What are you doing here?"
His friend laughs softly and he poses in the air he's floating in. "We're going shopping!"
"Shopping...!" the male's dark eyes flashed with interest, but he shook his head aggressively. He can't get in trouble with his mom again, or he might actually end up hitting her with a ki blast. Goten never knew how much he repressed his frustration towards his mother until puberty hit. "I can't! I'm grounded and...it's like two in the morning."
"Awe, too bad..."Trunks observed his nails, which he had painted black with the help of Bulma. "There's this new store that sells all kinds of cool clothes. Shiny stuff, chains..." his voice took on a sweet quality. "Hoodies...And those pants that flare to at the bottom. In all colors imaginable. And we have an unlimited credit card."
Trunks flashed a shiny card in his hands.
"Colorful and shiny clothes!?"Goten's eyes shinned.
The lavender-haired boy knew just how to get Goten's attention. Compared to Trunks' more layered and darker style, the other teen loved anything that made him stand out. From simple neon-t-shirts to, well, an outfit that made him look like he came off a runway for some weird designer brand. Made him look nothing like his father. One time he tried to ask the other why he didn't want to look like Goku because Trunks would kill to look as cool as his dad: and he got a ki blast to the face (and Goten apologizing for an hour). So: he knew better than to question anything about his family now.
Trunks wiggles the card in front of him, "Soooo, you coming or not?"
"Yes! Fuck yes." the curse word was spoken in an even softer whisper, Goten has only just started cursing and he's not as well, comfortable with it as Trunks is. Likely because the other grew up around a Mom and Dad who cursed. Of course, Bulma and Vegeta tried to keep it to a minimum - but Trunks still picked up quite a few interesting insults. Goten was out his window within moments, wearing a t-shirt and jeans he tossed on. The jeans were a bright green: rather than blue.
"Thought so!" He bumped into the other, and Goten rolled his eyes chuckling.
Wordlessly, the two initiated a friendly race as they flew towards the glowing city in the darkness. Neither one was really trying, just playfully pulling ahead of the other - sometimes shoving and pushing the other. They calmed down as they approached the city, being illuminated b the bright street lights. Slowly, the pair touched down in front of a gleaming storefront. The glass display case was filled with all sorts of strange assortments of clothing - it was a store based on the most recent fashion trends. Perfect for two wanna-be 'cool kids'.
"Trunks! Trunks!" Goten pulled on the other's long sleeve, pointing to a pair of blindingly bright blue bell-bottoms. "I need them!"
He frowns as he approached the door, realizing that the store is closed. "Wait...how are we going shopping if it's closed?"
Trunks gave Goten a wide grin, playful wickedness written all over his features. A month ago, Goten would have balked at what he was even suggesting with his mischievous features - now, Goten returned his grin. They were well, becoming quite the delinquents. But who could stop them? The all-powerful Saiyans! Or at least, that's what they thought they were in moments like these. There was no real rational thought put behind it.
"Oooh. How are we getting in?" the son of Goku whispered trying to be serious, but he ended up laughing a bit anyways. The sound was like bells in Trunks' ears. So, real and pure. He got distracted for a moment. His brain was short-circuiting - before he recovered.
"Like this." He sent a small ki blast at each of the door's hinges and it fell inwards with a thump: not even Goten winced at the sound. Actually, he had already rushed into the store. He knew Trunks had every intention to pay with the credit card - so what if they hurt a door in the process? He couldn't wait to start trying on all sorts of outfits!
"C'mon Trunks! We can't waste time now - or we might get caught!" Goten laughed, the adrenaline rushing through his body felt wonderful.
This is how Saiyans are supposed to live, on the edge, dangerously. Not being cooped up in a musty room flipping through a textbook. If only he could get his mother to understand that. All being cooped up did was make Goten restless. Make him angry and feel stifled. When he's with Trunks - there's nothing stopping them from doing what they want. That's because Trunks understands. He knows how the rush feels. How addicting it is - how much they crave it.
Grinning the shorter male ran in after him, laughing. "Let's get the party started!"

Bags and bags stuffed with tissue paper were sitting beside the two, who were sprawled out across the grass: shoulders touching neither really aware of how close their bodies were. Empty cans of soda were also sprawled across the grass haphazardly as a cool wind blew by. It would have been nice to gaze at the moon, but it was full tonight: and they bother knew looking at it was a bad idea. Maybe that's why they had gone out and broken into the store, Vegeta told them the full moon would have even more of an effect on them. Goten sighs contently breathing in the cool night air, staring up at the stars.
"Thank you,I was about to go mad being all locked up." he breathed out voice carrying to his friend. Trunks shook his head and waved a dismissive hand through the air.
"No problem..."
Goten isn't sure what made him do it, but it simply felt right. His tail flicked out and it found Trunks' intertwining the furred appendages together tightly.
"I'm serious. You're the best thing in my life. Especially with all the emotions, I'm struggling with..." his tail slipped further up the other's gripping tightly, completely interlocked.
His face started to heat up, the touch felt foreign and strange - yet - so right. The son of Vegeta jumped as he had felt the other's tail wrap about his own, and he sucked in a breath his face glowing with a soft pink heat. It felt...weirdly intimate. When they were younger they locked tails all the time. There was something different about it this time. Especially as Goten moved his tail further up, now - it was definitely more intimate. A shiver runs through both of them. Neither one moves away from it. Trunks' mind wanders as he scrambles to answer Goten's words: so soft and sincere - he feels his heartbeat begin to pick up dramatically. it's like it wants to break right out of his chest.
That's when he feels a heat rush through his entire being - one he's been becoming accustomed to since he had to live through the talk. He swallows hard and he looks over at Goten, who seems to have had the same shift of energy as tension crackles between them. Trunks when he first felt this kind of thing towards Goten, thought it was just his want to fight - but this feeling was hotter: nearly searing as it scorched through his mind. It was also a lot more intense. He fears thinking about what it actually is, but he makes the mistake of turning to look at Goten. Bright blue eyes met with deep voids of chocolate brown.
The taller's breathing shuddered, and then, suddenly - he rolled over grabbing Trunks pinning the other half-Saiyan beneath him. His dark eyes flashed bright with a thousand swirling emotions, and the male beneath him stared up with dilated eyes: the tension between them seemed to be burning the air, as Goten leaned down his breathing shaking. They could hear each other's heartbeats. Trunks finally realized that whatever was happening, wasn't a good idea. It has to be the full moon affecting them - being exposed to its light is making them act wild. Right? He shoves any other thoughts aside.
It's just the moon. Trunks tells himself fiercely. So, he grabbed Goten grinning.
"Not so fast!" His playful words helped break the heavy air of - need.
He flips their positions. And realized his mistake the second he had the other male beneath him. His self-control shattered and he felt his entire brain flood with a single thought - one that made his entire face flush a deep red color. Yet, his body was already moving on his own as he leaned down their breathing mixed together as their faces drew near- so close that Trunks could feel the heat radiating off the other's body. Moonlight was reflecting off of Goten's face, making him look otherworldly (which he is) - the lavender-haired male was shaking a bit from a mix of subconscious nerves - and pure adrenaline.
"Am I interrupting something?" a deep - gruff voice shattered the entire scene. The pair leaped away from each other, problem was their tails were still intertwined and they ended up cracking their heads against each other as they were tried to jerk away, only to be pulled back in. Trunks groaned seeing stars, and he finally realizes who it was. His entire body goes cold the heat from earlier extinguishing. Goten recovered faster from the collide and he untangled their trials freaking out as he stumble up.
"Mr.Vegeta! Hi-i! Um, we just went-? Um, well we were just going to- um...?" the younger Saiyan attempted and Vegeta shot him a harsh look.
"Go home Goten."
"Yes, sir! Bye Trunks!" the male didn't need to be told twice, after scooping up his bags of clothes he flew off leaving the lavender-haired boy alone with his father.
He could feel dread sinking in. He was doomed now. He swallowed hard and he stood up slowly dusting himself off, his skull was still ringing from colliding with Goten. Screw him and his iron head. He rubbed at his forehead, as he looked down at the ground heavy silence falling between the pair of them. He whistled softly to try and fill it not meeting the prince's intense gaze.
"Welll, guess you caught us! Ahah, better pick up these bags and go home-!"
"Trunks. Look at me." his father stated. The teen winced: and he felt a chill go through his body. He was so dead. Squeezing his eyes closed, preparing himself for the worst. When he cracked them open, he found that written across Vegeta's face was not fury: or even disappointment. There was basically nothing save for a soft brow furrow of concern and flickering of his tail. He was scared now, but for an entirely different reason than before. It was never good when Vegeta was concerned.
The prince of Saiyans crossed his arms, questioning the teen like he was interrogating him. "What were you two doing?"
"Normal teenager stuff? We just went shopping. " Trunks answered, then he realized that's not what the man wanted to know. His face floods with color. "Oh-h, that? That was nothing! Just some roughhousing!"
Vegeta rose an eyebrow, a smirk on his face. "And roughhousing involves intertwining your tails?" He sighed and got serious again, "Trunks if you can't control yourself around him: then you need to stay away until you level out. you two could end up doing something really stupid that you regret, or worse: hurt each other."
"What - what do you think I was going to do!?" the teen cried out, not believing what he was hearing. Stay away from Goten? No way! His hormones and emotions might take months to finally become stable again. He couldn't be away from his best friend in the entire world that long.
"Kiss him. Maybe more - I caught you in a pretty comprising position, boy." the ravenette man explained bluntly.
Trunks' brain sputtered out and died at the accusation and he felt like if he got any redder, he would turn into a tomato. His words sputtered out weakly. "Kiss - kiss Goten! Ew! No way-y! That's weird why would I kiss him! And more - Dad! What kind of guy do you think I am!"
"It's not about that, Trunks. You got a lot of hormones going wild and the full moon is out tonight - try and lie to me about what you were thinking of doing out here. Alone. With Goten - in the bright moonlight."Vegeta's words cut straight through all of Trunks' excuses. And the older man knew he had been right on the nose. He watched as the teen turned away, flushed beyond belief - likely his mind spinning all the things he had planned to do: intentionally or not. He runs a hand through his hair.
"I'm not shaming you for it - just, be careful. Saiyan desire is nothing to mess with."
"...thank Dad." Trunks mumbled and he smiled softly, "I'm sure if Mom caught me she would make this even more embarrassing."
Vegeta laughed darkly, "Oh - you better bet your ass your mom is gonna know."
"Wait! No, please Dad don't tell her-!"
"This is your punishment for sneaking out: oh, I hope she gives you an earful about responsible sex."
Trunks groans deeply and he dramatically falls to his knees: now - he kinda wishes his father had been furious.

He was over the moon, actually no - that phrase hardly described how Goten was feeling as he slipped through his window again: changing back into his pajamas. He laid down on his bed, grinning - it's been plastered there since the moment he left Trunks to deal with his father. He has never felt like that before. That heat. Emotions that were so intense it made him feel like he was losing control of himself. He could recall every detail to himself now. From the way, the moonlight danced off Trunks' dilated gaze - to their soft, mixing breaths. He covered his mouth: he was floating! Literally too, his body a few inches off his bed now - he just couldn't calm down! His heart was still raging inside of his chest. Every quick heartbeat served as a reminder that what happened was real. He grabbed at his trial, and he brought it close to him, reliving the sensation of the other's warm tail against his: and Goten let out a strange squeal.
They had nearly kissed! He knows he should be more concerned about this - but he's had a crush on Trunks for the longest time. The older boy has always been the subject of his admiration for really, as long as Goten can remember. It had started out as platonic fascination, thinking the lavender-haired boy was just the coolest and before the male even realized it he had started to develop not-so platonic admiration for the other. And now? It was even harder to keep his feelings a secret when all of them were just wanting to biol out of him. When his every fiber of being hummed when Trunks was around. He felt like he was sick almost, his thoughts always got so mushed up whenever that teen opened his mouth. Nowadays Trunks just looking at him filled him with so many emotions he felt like he was going to burst at the seams.
"We almost kissed..." he breathed to himself and flipped over in the air, now standing levitating in his room. He punched the air and did a silly - little victory dance. "We almost kissed!"
His excitement was more so than he even thought, as he accidentally went Super Saiyan his entire room flooding with the bright yellow gold. Goten paled and he instantly powered down. He listened carefully, but there was no sound of marching steps. He took a deep breath chuckling to himself as he settled back down. It took a bit, but eventually, the half-Saiyan managed to fall asleep.
A meadow stretched out before him, full of long-dark blades of grass. It wasn't an unnerving sight though, for the blades looked soft - as if they were made of fabric as they fluttered in the soft breeze. The breeze carried with it sweet scents to Goten, and he felt at ease. It was as if a complete calm took over his body not a single worry was left. He glanced around tempted to try and grab a lightning bug that drifted past him. That was when he realized it was not a bug, but a small star. His eyes widened with wonder, and then, the sweetest voice he has ever heard drifted into his ears.
"My child...we finally formally meet." Goten spun, facing a woman who was startlingly beautiful. She was one of the most gorgeous people he had ever seen, but there was something too perfect about her that made her otherworldly. Not to mention she was at least twice his size. He felt he knew her, and a deep sense of warm familiarity filled him. He fell to his knees. At this level, he could see the end of her dress's skirt up close - and it was woven from, well what looked to be space itself - filled with stars of all kinds. Goten's mouth went dry.
The woman knelt down a bit, to be at eye level with him. Her movement was as fluid as water. "It was much harder contacting you, my dear: considering you were not told about me. I am your goddess. The moon you Saiyans worship."
"....A goddess?" Goten mused his voice hardly a speck compared to the woman's own. "I think Mr.Vegeta mentioned you before..."
She smiled, her glowing white eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'm sure the King who calls himself a Prince did."
"So..."Goten swallowed. "Why are you talking to me?"
The moon goddess tilted her head, "Well - you love the King's son, do you not?"
The young Saiyan sputtered, his face flushing. "I well - love? That's a strong word, we're just friends-"
"Hush child: it was a trick question. I know you do." She taps the third eye upon her forehead. "I know all. It's just cute to see you mortalS get flustered." The goddess chuckled softly and the sound made Goten melt. She reached down and cupped the teen's face.
"You will have him, so don't worry my child. But I must warn you... it won't be easy and any wrong move..." her voice became grave, and before Goten, a silhouette of Trunks formed glowing soft white, she swiped her hand through it the image vanishing. "And you'll lose the Heir forever."
"But you just said - I will have him-?" his words were filled with confusion and the moon goddess smiles only mystically.
"Of course: I have bound your fates together...but the string is delicate - and can be severed." The world around him was starting to fade out.
"His fate is in your hands. The Savior's Child shall be the Heir's shield..." Her words echoed around him and the entire plain was starting to vanish.
And then, Goten woke up in a cold sweat: moonlight was flooding his entire room. The teen stood up shaking a bit and slammed his curtains shut plunging himself into darkness.
