Chapter Text
Shaak Ti had woke up on the morning of the end of the Republic, knowing that she was going to die that day.
Throughout this war, she had never truly felt alive, so this realisation was almost… a comfort.
Order 66 happened, and even as the bonds of those she had come to see as family shattered in her mind, she took care to leave a holocron for any survivors.
The end of the Order did not mean the end of the Jedi.
Once her message was recorded, she took on a meditative position and waited.
She didn’t have to wait too long, feeling the burn of the lightsabre entering her chest, followed by the comforting peace of darkness sweeping in.
……………………………………..
The light was bright, prompting her to rub at her eyes in an attempt to lessen the sting. The world around her was all still a little blurry, but at least it wasn’t hurting anymore.
All Jedi had different views on what the Force was like when you became one with it. For her, it reminded her of the Room of a Thousand Fountains, the grass underneath her newly bared feet, sky blue above her. In the distance, she heard the distance sound of voices, prompting her to walk in that direction.
With each step, she felt lighter.
When she reached the top of a hill, it was then that she saw the figure in clone armour, the white painted grey in patches, a dash of red catching her eyes.
Colt’s helmet was off, giving her the chance to see the fond smile on his face as he looked up at her.
It took everything she had in her not to rush forwards, deliberately forcing herself to keep her pace slow and steady as she walked down towards him, stopping when she was right in front of him.
“You’re here sooner than I ever wanted.” He said softly.
“You left sooner than I ever expected.” She whispered back, reaching out and pulling him into an uncharacteristic hug.
For a moment, he simply stood there, until he slowly wrapped his arms around her, gently returning the show of affection.
They were free.
It happened in the worst possible way.
But they were free.
