Crying, tears were streaming down her reddened cheeks.
Holding her knees into her chest Lilith bit her bottom lip crying harder.
“they don’t like you as much as they like her.”
”shut up!” Lilith screamed and covered her ears.
“They, do..they care.” Lilith mumbled and slowly dropped her hands from her ears.
Lilith was always the second hand, her big sister Kira was always the go getter, the star child, the one who got the good grades, the one who was an honors student, the one who could fight, who could protect.
Vi and Caitlyn loved her ever so dearly. A little to dearly.
Grabbing a crayon she rubbed her runny nose against her forearm slowly laying her back against the window ceil.
Staring up she noticed a certain someone who was not allowed within a 20 feet area with them. Not even with a 20 foot pole.
”Hiya kid.”
jinx slid down from the roof and sat up next to her niece. Smiling softly Lilith mumbled a hi.
“what’s going on?” Jinx pulled out her pistol and stared at a crow.
“mama and mommy keep..telling me I-I-“ Lilith stuttered but before she could catch up with her tongue Jinx was in her face and holding her cheeks.
”DONT! EVER! Let them tell you who you can’t and can be..” Jinx whispered. Slowly releasing her grip on her nieces cheek rubbing them softly.
“You would think..my sister..” Jinx started to laugh and let go of Lilith shooting the crow that wouldn’t shut up.
“How do you think your aunt became who she is today?” Jinx whispered.
“it wasn’t because of time, it was because of your MOTHER!” She yelled and shot another crow.
Lilith jumped staring up at her aunt. “Aunt Jinx stop! You’re scaring me!” Stopping in her tracks Jinx nodded. “Calm down Jinx, come on.” She whispered to herself then collected herself slowly sitting back down pulling her niece into her arms.
“Someone once told me..’I’m perfect.’ Holding Lilith tighter she stared up at the stars, you could never see them this clear from the undercity. “Trust me when I say kid, you can fuck up each and every second of your life, and I’ll be behind you backing you up.” Jinx stared down at the little girl who played with her blue braids, tears falling down her pale skin. “You’re, perfect.” Jinx whispered and buried her face in Lilith’s navy blue hair.
“So, so perfect.” Jinx whispered tears slowly falling from her pink purplish eyes.
“We’ll show them..We’ll show them all.” Jinx whispered closing her eyes and tightened her grip on her niece. “I promise.”
