Summary
Things… change.
Ghost supposes that many would probably say that they get better. They do get better, don’t they? Yes, they do. Things change, and they are better. The Infection is gone, and Hollow is safe, and Hornet is happy, and so Ghost is fine. Perhaps they are selfish, and they mourn a dying world that they can never return to, and they are more alone than ever before, but they’ll get over it.
…And it’s not as if anyone will notice if they don’t.

Summary

Summary
The only problem is this: when Zhongli is in his dragon form, he is enormous. Larger than nightmares. Broader than entire landscapes. His wingspan could eclipse the sun. His claws could gut a mountain. He is the sum of old things and older contracts, of aeons and fossilized fury, of elegance carved into stone and softened only by the gentle hand of time.
Childe sees a giant, powerful, majestic ancient being and thinks: pillow fort.
There are consequences.
“Why,” Zhongli says eventually, as Childe attempts to tuck himself between two scale plates “for warmth and proximity,” “are you like this.”
“Genetics,” Childe says. “Upbringing. Possibly a curse from a very powerful but exceptionally hot dragon man I met when I was still innocent.”
“I will drop you in a ravine.”
“You’ll miss me too much.”
Zhongli closes his eyes again. Breathes. Finds his center. Counts to ten-thousand, which in dragon time is approximately half a blink.
In which Zhongli tries to sleep and Childe tries everything else.
