Set 65 years after the ending of "The Dragonslayer's Egg"
With 44/60 eggs hatched and another egg on the way, Ajax and Zhongli have their hands full. Many of their children have already left the nest, but there's no end to the chaos in sight. On top of family drama and sibling quarrels, now a certain troublemaker has returned to stir the pot further.

Childe never really thought too much about his soul mark, not after the abyss. He had made peace with the fact he could never be with them after being tainted. But after a mission gone wrong the mark is unintentionally revealed to his Archon. Forced to fulfil a millennia old contract between gods she has to hand Childe over to the Geo Archon.
Childe now has to navigate an unfamiliar culture while trying to please his new husband and his family, as well as prove his continued loyalty to the Tsaritsa. Balancing on that tight rope will prove difficult as both sides fight to pull him down. The abyss is certainly ready to catch him as he falls.

Childe is suddenly forced to live in Liyue with Rex Lapis, and no body but Rex Lapis is happy about it.

“I’ve heard you hold ceremonies,” Varka starts. He lets go of Flins’s hand and tucks his own into pockets, to warm them. “When exchanging names with a mortal, you partake in rituals, if it is of a bargain between nations. I will withhold my name until then.”
“You know our history well.” Flins seems surprised. Amused, yes, and also intrigued. “Your pockets are laced with dried foxgloves, cedar and sage. I wonder who was made privy to that knowledge. It’s an ancient summoning. I haven’t caught this scent in centuries.”
“The God of Winds,” Varka is quick to reply. “They were privy to it, but I was not. I was told it would grant me safe passage to your Realm.”
- Dragonkind is ailing, and Varka is sent on a mission to Snezhnaya, as a bargaining chip for the Winter Court’s Fae Folk in hopes of finding a solution to the Eternal Night’s corruption. As dragons and mortals battle with the coming of a New World, Varka finds himself taken in by a strange Fae, and led into a realm of trickery, where fealty sworn to the Favonius Ordo will be tested.

In a clear spring with a whisper of a past self slipping from his mind, Leviathan awoke. The only eyes to bear witness to such a monumental event was the blind gaze of the moon, and the gentle caress of the cool spring he was settled in to rest. He stayed that way as the moon lazily walzted along the dark sky. Not moving as he watched the first sunrise of his life, the way inky black lightened into vibrant blue. Above him, a face peers down at him curiosly. The stench of divinity clung to her, some part of the Leviathan thought to be disgusted.
“I’m Egeria,” She says after a moment, glancing at him with a small smile. “Goddess of the rivers and seas. Well, minor goddess of rivers and seas.” Egeria amends herself with a small scrunch of her nose, “It doesn’t have the same ring if I had just said goddess, does it?”
There was a small part of him that balked at the thought of entertaining this goddess. The essence of his being hissing at him that he should end her pitiful existence. It would be easy, he knows, to urge the water which he awoke in to pierce her through the heart. No amount of power she held over the seas of Teyvat could ever surpass his.

“Zhongli,” murmurs Tartaglia as he peels back the comforter on the bed—the one that Morax complains about; the one that Tartaglia’s mother sent all the way from Snezhnaya, made of thick wool that Morax insists is too warm for the temperate climate.
He’s greeted with not the sight of his handsome mate, but rather a lizard. Long and sleek, nearly the length of the bed, its scales are the same charcoal as Morax’s arms and fingers. Geo swirls around it lazily, casting a golden, glittering filter around its form. Horns dot its head, the very same antlers notched into Morax’s crown on his lazier, or more formal days.
Tartaglia blinks, head tilted in surprise.
Laden with their clutch, Morax demands cuddles whilst in his dragon form.

Summary
Zhongli slithers around him—actually slithers, tail curling, wings shifting in a way that disturbs the ambient humidity—and Childe realizes he is not allowed to leave. He is, in fact, being hoarded.
“Okay,” he says slowly. “This is, like. A thing, right?”
Zhongli blinks.
“A thing?”
“Yeah. Like a dragon thing. Like the part where you—" He gestures vaguely around the den. “—nest and hoard stuff and get unreasonably attached to shiny things and start calling your boyfriend mine in a tone that suggests you’ll level a mountain if someone looks at him funny.”
Zhongli doesn’t respond.
Instead, the dragon lowers his head, breathes in at Childe’s neck, and growls.
In which bleeding out is less dangerous than flirting while bleeding out in front of a dragon with hoarding problems.
(Or, maybe Childe should stop getting mortally injured in increasingly creative ways if he doesn’t want Zhongli to hoard him like a limited-edition relic with attachment issues.)
