The sliding door opens abruptly.
“Umh…” he doesn’t know how to begin, and the man is very still, and doesn’t ask anything, so Xiao Xingchen stutters: “I need a place to spend the night, and all the inns are full. Someone told me maybe I could find a room here?”
The man snorts, the curve of his mouth barely visible in the darkness.
“Go ask somewhere else. This is no place for you”.
And just like that, the door is slid closed in front of his eyes.
Xiao Xingchen is stunned dumb for a couple of seconds.
...Xiao Xingchen is traveling for work when the rain forces him to find an inn to sleep dry and comfortable, but the place he finds is not exactly the kind of inn he was expecting.
