Work Text:

Sua just wanted to plan the perfect Valentine's Day date, why was it so hard?

Flowers and Sheon

Now, now. Sua was no flower specialist, besides roses and sunflowers she doubted that she could recognize any flower. Thankfully the Internet exists and she can investigate about it.

Lavender rose: love at first sight

But it wasn't really at first sight. Sua definitely liked Tsuki the first time she saw her but to think that was love at first sight sounds shallow.

Red tulips: true love

True love. Wasn't this something that implied that something called Fake Love existed? It's either love or not, there's no such thing as truthness in it.

Purple Lilacs: a beginning love

Maybe she should have gotten her this when she first asked Tsuki out. There wasn't really a reason to not choose these ones, but she didn't really like the name. It's like saying purple purple.

Stock: you will always be beautiful to me

Were flowers always this shallow? Sua didn't really care for Tsuki's beauty, a great enormous beauty that was comparable as that of the moon itself in a clear night surrounded by stars. She found Tsuki the most beautiful person she had ever met but she was sure she would still love her the same even if she were no longer beautiful one day.

She groaned and threw her arms across the table. Why was choosing flowers so hard? It's not even part of the whole date and she was already popping a vein about it.

Sheon entered the room with a bowl of cereal and sat across her. She pouted at Sua as she ate. "Why do you look like crap?"

Sua snorted. "Why, thanks. I swear to God, kids have no manners towards their elders."

"Yeah, yeah, Grandma. So what's up?"

Sua raised her head towards her and grinned. "Sheon, do you know about flowers by any chance?"

"Flowers?" She munched loudly on her cereal. "A bit. My Mom used to have always fresh flowers in the house."

Finally. A chance. A light in this dark tunnel.

"Oh, and do you know about their meanings too? I am kind of looking for something specific but I can't seem to find the right one."

"Sure," Sheon slurped some of the milk and Sua grimaced. "But are you getting a plant for the dorm? Remember that Tsuki is allergic."

Tsuki. Is. Allergic. To. Flowers.

How could she have forgotten? All this worry for nothing!

Sua groaned again and threw her upper body over the table.

"Hey, be careful with my cereal!"

Places, Haruna and Suhyeon

How could she invite her girlfriend to the Valentine's date if she didn't know where it'll be? She needed to choose a place.

Han river. A picnic date in the Han river. A reality for many but a dream to idols. Apparently the older idols abused the location a bit too much, having all their dates there. It was more secret to publish your relationship on the daily news rather than go there on a date.

Cinema. The typical romantic date. Watching a scary movie only to use it as an excuse to hold hands and cuddle. But now, because of covid, these days there were two seats between every person and they couldn't even share the same popcorn or soda.

Restaurant. The better choice. She could get food and secure a place at the same time.

Haruna and Suhyeon entered the living room chatting about some new Netflix show they were watching together.

"Sua? Sua!"

"Uhhm. Sorry, what were you saying?" She locked her phone and paid attention to the baby of the group.

Haruna pouted. "I was asking if you wanted to cook or were you going to order something."

"Sure, let's go. I kind of want to eat the ramen from the place next to that shoe store three blocks from here."

Suhyeon laughed. "Dude, at least pretend you read the chat. The manager said yesterday that we aren't allowed to go out during this month because of how many other idols are getting sick. Since our comeback is close."

Well. The date was going to be at home then.

Food and Siyoon

A date at home meant that she was going to order the food. Thankfully, this new world is so accommodating and you can buy almost anything online. She searched for options for Valentine's Day on the internet. She decided on choosing the menu and then looking for places that sell the food.

Steak Au Poivr. A real fancy name for pepper steak. Steak was a bit too heavy for dinner, she wasn't American.

Mushroom and Thyme Campanelle. The pictures from it looked really nice but Sua hated mushrooms with a passion.

Shakshuka. This was the first time she heard of this Turkish plate but she immediately knew it was the perfect choice.

... It was a horrible choice. One hour and a half later, she still kept looking for places that sold the dish. Even looking on Instagram for private chefs she didn't find anything.

At the verge of her mental breakdown, Siyoon arrived at the dorms. Sua stood up and hugged her.

Siyoon chuckled and pat her back. "Hey, what's with you?"

"I can't find anyone who sells a food I want." Sua lamented and faked cried on her teammate's shoulder.

"Then make it. Cook it yourself."

"But what if it's not good? I want it to be just like in the pictures and I'm not that confident in my cooking skills."

Siyoon shrugged. "Sure, it won't be perfect the first time but if you really want it to be better the next time you should practice. If you want we can try cooking it tonight."

Sua squealed and thanked her.

Activities and Haram

What to do at home? Sua felt the pressure of making it an enjoyable date even if it was only at home. She looked for ideas of dates at home but she wasn't really convinced with them.

Netflix and Chill. She didn't even like Netflix that much preferring their HBO and Disney+ subscriptions more.

Set up an nacho bar. Would have been nice to search for this before choosing the menu. Nachos and Turkish food didn't sound like a good combo.

Plan a Board Game Night. Absolutely not. Tsuki loved games and was highly competitive, she would eat Sua alive.

Learn a dance together. They had enough choreos with their comeback approaching.

Read a book together. Don't get Sua wrong, she loved reading. But doing that as a date for Valentine's sounded like something for 40 years old divorced women.

She heard the bedroom's door open and immediately locked her phone. She rolled her eyes when she saw that it was Haram.

"Dude you scared me! I thought it was Tsuki."

Haram just raised an eyebrow and motioned her to scoot over.

"Haram. If you were to have a date at home, what would you do?"

Haram chuckled as she laid down on the bed. "Are you planning the Valentine's date? I guess Netflix and chill, the literal version not the dirty one."

Sua groaned. She had already thought of that. "But I don't like Netflix!"

Her roommate grabbed one of the pillows that were laying around and hit her with it. "It's an expression. You can choose whatever site."

Sua facepalmed herself. How could she have ignored that!

Date and Tsuki

No flowers. At home. Homemade Shakshuka. Disney+ and chill. What could go wrong?

Everything.

Before the date, Sua went to throw out the trash and forgot her keys inside. When she came and noticed it and tried to call her members but she had forgotten her phone inside as well. She was outside over an hour knocking every once in a while but no one seemed to hear her until Haruna came from a vocal lesson and opened the door for her.

She was late for a date in a place she lived for fucks sake.

When she entered the kitchen, the second bad event of the night occured. She had left the oven turned on and the Shakshuka was ruined. And as if that wasn't bad enough when she opened the oven door the smoke alarm was triggered.

Five minutes later all the members were in the kitchen drenched completely in water.

"Finally, that infernal sound stopped!" Siyoon celebrated as she got down of the chair.

Sua couldn't contain her emotions and started crying. The members looked at Tsuki and told her to deal with her while they cleaned.

Once they were alone in the room, Tsuki hugged Sua. "Hey, it's okay. No one got hurt. It's okay."

"I'm so sorry," Sua hiccuped, "I wanted the date to be perfect. I'm so sorry. I ruined everything."

Tsuki giggled. "I mean, it was a bit funny. It's okay, Sua. Everything is perfect for me when you are next to me."

Sua pouted and her girlfriend chased the pout away with her lips. Both giggled in their own world.

Suhyeon entered the kitchen. "Hey, we are putting Encanto while we dry the couches if you want to come."

"We'll be there in a minute," Tsuki said as she got up.

Suhyeon picked up a can of soda and went back to the living room.

Before stepping out the kitchen, Tsuki wrapped Sua in a backhug. "I love you, you know that, right."

Sua smiled. "I love you too, my valentine."

Notes:

Happy Valentine's Day! Here in my country Valentine's Day is called the Day of Love and Friendship and I hope that if you aren't in a relationship, you don't feel too sad about it and spend it surrounded by your friends. After all, it's a different type of love but not for that is it less important 💕
