Air rolls her eyes, like a non-verbal yeah right, and Pam squints at that, a scoff exiting her mouth. "I would figure. Is that why you want to write him a song?"
Pam halts, the words at the back of her throat dissolving faster than they are forming, and Air grins, probably marking her victory in her mind now. Pam renders speechless, and it's not because it's true. Well, it was true for such a short pocket of time. But the more she attends Air's lessons in lieu of Sarawat's, the more Pam gets lost in Air's tunes, drowns in Air's perfume; the more Pam wants to write a song about how Air's eyes declare ownership of Pam's soul, and she is willing to surrender it anyhow.
Pam pries her eyes away from Air's direction, crossing her arms. "He's not even the reason I'm here anymore."

"Just so the aunties would back off," Pear confirms.
Earn should say no. It would be too much for her feeble heart to handle, pretending to be in love with Pear but not so much that Pear comes to know that she is actually in love with Pear. It has, however, been established that she could never say no to Pear, even if the reasoning behind this supposed fake date is as fickle as her heart.
