I went a little nuts after comparing the differences between the anime/manga depiction of Heiji's nightmare in The Naniwa Serial Murder Case (Ch 185-188 / E118), which, coupled with some pre-existing headcanons (and some relentless encouragement/enabling <3), spiraled into an entire AU.
