Regulus Black hated Valentine's day.
And by hated, that is…REALLY hated.
He hated the sappiness, the way people acted like it was actually important and not just something businesses used as a money grab in the wait for the next gift-giving holiday. He hated his friends making fun of him for not having a Valentine each year as if he actually cared. He especially hated the way he got cards from ‘secret admirers’ every year, not because people actually liked him, but because he was a semi-good-looking Pureblood boy with a lot of money. He hated all of it.
What he hated even more, however, was James Potter. Specifically, James Potter flaunting about and swooning over this secret crush of his in the run-up to Valentine's day as if anyone cared. Regulus didn’t care, why would he?
