Work Text:
The early morning sun's rays fell slowly on Hokkaido's Alpine Jr. High as Raimon's goalkeeper wandered among the school grounds, olive green eyes lazily staring in thought at the path below her, too engrossed in her worries to care about her destination.
Silvia and her team had spent every day since their last match against Aliea Academy in Nara, and still the events of that match kept replaying in her mind: a constant reminder of just how big the power gap between the two teams was. And no matter how confident she tried to be for the others, the goalkeeper still couldn't get the alien-shaped cloud of worry infesting her brain.
The dark-haired girl took a look around her surroundings, noticing she was standing smack-dab in the middle of the school grounds, nothing in sight and no noise to be heard except the soft hum of the snow hitting the brick-laden path below her.
Stretching her arms behind her back Silvia let out a loud yawn, basking in the quiet of early mornings as she headed towards the school's football pitch. She wasn't thinking about training per se and instead just desired to feel at peace with herself for a second, clear her mind of any alien-shaped worries clouding it.
Her steps muffled by the snow below her, the goalkeeper's strut was suddenly interrupted by a feminine giggle coming from behind her, causing the dark-haired girl to immediately snap around to face whoever it was that just made the noise. She wouldn't usually be so aggressive about this, but after finding out Aliea was headed towards Alpine any noise registered in her brain as a possible black football to the chest.
Before the goalkeeper stood a blue-haired figure, a girl not much older than herself, "What's the matter human -" the figure's voice dripped with superiority as she confidently took a step towards Silvia, causing her to instinctively back away. "Couldn't sleep?" the girl asked mockingly.
The sarcastic worry in her tone only seemed to annoy the goalkeeper, who kept herself on the defense. "Who are you? Are you with Aliea Academy?" Silvia took a shaky step towards the other girl, soliciting a mocking grin from the hooded girl. "Save it, even if you wanted to attack me your feeble little human body wouldn't be able to lay a finger on me." The girl raised her hand towards Silvia, keeping her at bay more like she was a wild animal instead of a person, which only annoyed the dark-haired girl more ."If you must know, my name is Isabelle."
Welp, she at least answered one of the questions: That girl was definitely an alien.
As the blue-haired girl took another step towards her, Silvia immediately jumped back, more out of reflex than conscious thought, earning an intrigued hum from her, "You're pretty nifty on your feet, aren't you human ? Guess all that training you've been doing's been finally paying off."
That caused Silvia to tilt her head in confusion slightly, blurting out a "You were watching me?" The goalkeeper feeling suddenly really concerned over the implication of what Isabelle just said, causing a tint of red to spread over the alien girl's face for a moment: "I didn't mean you specifically- idiot- I mean you and your pathetic human team. You few have been improving leaps and bounds over your performance at the football frontier!-"
"Oh thank you!" Silvia gave the girl a sweet smile, genuinely enjoying the compliment and forgetting for a moment that Isabelle was supposed to be an enemy.
And that caused Isabelle to stammer this time, taken off guard by the goalkeeper's sweet tone despite all the mocking and taunting she just received. Who was this girl? She was more of an alien than Isabelle herself!
The praise was unexpected, but not disliked by Silvia, suddenly being told (by someone who was her opponent no less) that her team had improved so much filled Raimon's captain with just the confidence she was lacking, causing her to smile to herself.
Well, that was at least until she heard a loud booming sound right where the school's football pitch was, causing the dark-haired girl to turn towards the source of the noise.
"Oh, that must be Gemini Storm, have fun with them human ." Isabelle said, yet when Silvia turned around towards the blue-haired alien girl had already disappeared without a trace.
Before the goalkeeper could even have time to question what just happened, she heard the voice of one of the Alpine students calling out for her, followed by some of her teammates.
"They're here! Gemini Storm have come to play against us!"
Guess finding out more about the mystery girl would have to be postponed.
