Summary
At first, Chris thought it was a joke, a mindless prank that was being played on him, but Jill confirmed it to him that Piers Nivans had, indeed, gone missing. He didn't believe that Piers went missing, the man was too skilled, too talented to be M.I.A., there's no possible way Piers had either been captured or, even worse, killed.
For months, Chris, Jill, Rebecca, and even Claire- after Chris had called her and told her the situation- searched for the missing hazel-eyed man, but each search ended up short, given the premises that they had no idea where to search. Each day, Chris's mood turned sour, but not too much that he would snap at those around him, just sour enough that he no longer acted the way he did before Piers went missing.
Though, the one thing that always greeted him when he got back home, something that had only happened in this wet fall month of August, was this medium-sized Shiba Inu with golden fur all over its body, except for the patches of white fur on its underbelly, chest, and all the way to its cheeks.
