I think our ghost is really good at gift giving

Summary:

It’s Valentine’s Day in the archives, Jon buys Tim Sasha and Martin things, that’s it.

Work Text:

Today was Valentine’s Day, and Jon was made painfully aware by all the cutout hearts everywhere. He had bought some things for his employees, he’s not too sure if that’s what people do, but he did anyways. They are the closest thing he has to friends, and knowing Tim he definitely bought something. And although he’s trying to look like a strict boss, he doesn’t want to seem to much like an asshole.

And, even with all their carelessness, they still are doing work, even if some are doing the best jobs at it.

He put the things on their desk, he was always the first one there, so might as well. He got Tim a derpy looking plush, that he knew would make him smile, Sasha a nice pen, not only for the fact that the ink is supposed to last long, and supposedly nice to write with, but it also looks quite fancy on the outside. She had been complaining recently about not having any good pens. He had gotten Martin some tea cup, a cute design that he’s not sure Martin will like or not, it has some cows and flowers on it, he had almost not gotten Martin something, but he didn’t want to sit though Sasha’s and Tim’s lectured about not leaving him out. And Jon knows Martin likes tea.

Jon quickly went to work after.

Although his door is normally closed it must have been cracked today, because he could hear the commotion outside.

“Just look at its face!!” Tim was holding the blank expressionless doll, with a big grin, shoving it in martin and sashas face.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if it was cursed” Sasha laughed out.

“Please I’ve never seen anything more lifeless then that” Martin mumbled, making both Sasha and Tim go into louder laughter.

“How did they know that I needed a pen anyways, it’s quite a nice pen”

“Maybe the ghosts that haunt this place are sick of your constant need for pens” Tim said dramatically.

“Well it is nice”

“And the cup is cute” Martin added.

“Oh” said Sasha and Tim looking at Martin now.

“Oh!! yeah.. I uh, got this cup here” he showed the cup. “It’s quite cute, really, and I actually like cows as well” Martin smiled.

Not that he would tell anyone, but he’s glad they liked the gifts.

Tim picked up the card that was with his doll “wish the person who gave us these said their name on here” the card just read ‘Tim’ in fancy font on a red and pink background.

“Yeah same, I would’ve been able to tell the handwriting too, if it was actually written” Sasha says looking at hers.

“I mean, the cards look nice at least” Martin said.

“Oh! That reminds me! I got you all cards” Tim said.

He went and gave them the cards, they seemed to enjoy them.

Tim then started to walk to Jon’s office. Smiling “heya boss”

“Tim” Jon said.

“I got you a card” he smiled and handed Jon a small printed piece of paper.

Jon opened it up, and couldn’t help a chuckle coming out, the card read “you’re purrfect” and had and most bleary and cursed image of a cat running Jon has ever seen “……thanks Tim” he said.

“No problem boss… Oh!! By the way, do you know who set all that stuff down on our desk, oh! Or was it you?” Tim said.

Jons light smile returned as he shrugged and lied “I didn’t see anyone”

“It was a spooky ghost! I knew it” Tim laughed and then walked out of the room.

Best they still saw him as their strict boss, maybe he’d do this next Valentine’s Day.

This was the only Valentine’s Day that Jon was able to do that. But even in the end of the world, that doll still lies on Tim’s old desk, and not Sasha never got rid of that pen, and sometimes he sees Martin using that tea cup.
