He agrees to stop taking live statements, to cut back on the number of paper ones too. He lets Daisy reassure him that she will be there to help, sympathetic the whole time. It’ll be a slow transition, she explains softly, not cold turkey, not like how she did it.
“And if it gets too much or too bad, we’ll stop,” she finishes, reaching out with a thin hand and placing it on Jon’s arm.
Her cornflower-blue eyes are sharp, even with that lingering urge of hunger he can sense in their depths, and Jon wants to believe her, so badly. He wants to believe that this could work, that it’s just like quitting cigarettes only a bit more involved, and he wants to believe so badly that if it gets bad enough they’ll call this all and try something else.

Summary
A common joke amongst those with cats is that of the “cat distribution system” which runs off the belief that you do not choose your cats. Rather, cats choose you, even if you have no intention of getting one. Especially if you have no intention of getting one.
Now Jon hadn’t thought he was exempt from that -- truthfully he thinks it's a sweet notion. After all, cats are far more intelligent and better than dogs so it makes sense a cat would know exactly who it wants to spend its time with. So all in all, the idea sounds nice. What he had thought was that, after getting one cat, he was no longer an ideal candidate for this “cat distribution system”.
He, of course, is wrong.

Summary
Castiel remembers the fairytales his mother would read to him as a child. In all his stories, a charming rogue or knight in shining armour would swoop in and save the prince or princess, whether it be by slaying some monster or whisking them away from their wicked family. In those stories they would fall in love and live happily ever after.
He likes to imagine himself in one of those stories with some charming stranger who stumbles upon him locked away in the dungeons and after defeating his wicked stepmother would free him. Then from there they fall in love and all would be well.
He did not anticipate his so-called "knight in shining armour" to be covered in that much blood.

The kid snorts, “what, do you work in R&D at your own company?” When Tony just gives him a blank look he clears his throat, “nevermind. So if you can build a missile I bet you can figure out a way to get us out of here.”
Tony sighs, turning his face away. He’s so tired. “I can’t build them that weapon, kid.”
Now it’s the kid’s turn to look confused. “Then build something else,” he says simply.

“Rao, Bruce, I’m so sorry,” Clark said.
Bruce knit his eyebrows together in confusion. “What happened on the mission?”
Now it was Clark who looked confused. “The mission?”
Bruce pulled up his tablet and began logging into the database. “You just came back from the JLA mission to Braal, no? Hal filed the report already.” Bruce tapped on the screen to open the report and scanned his eyes over it. “Looks like it went alright.”
A horrified look dawned on his friend’s face. “You don’t know.”
“Know what,” Bruce said, now starting to feel annoyed at clearly being out of the loop of whatever Clark was talking about.
“Bruce, I don’t hear his heart.”
Four months ago, Agent 37 returned from Spyral, and faced his family’s anger at the betrayal.
One month ago, John Doe was shot and killed in a mugging.
Three days ago, Superman came to offer his condolences after returning from an off-world mission.
Now, Dick Grayson is lowered into the ground once again.
OR: Dick dies alone and his family grieves.
