The realizing was really what did it for Remus, when he thinks about it, which is just about every time he sees Sirius. The realizing did him in. Loving Sirius was never the issue- everyone who meets Sirius does. Remus reckons he's loved Sirius since about five minutes after they met in the Great Hall, both trying very hard to seem happy about being placed in Gryffindor House. Remus met Sirius's silver eyes across the table and Sirius offered him a tight-lipped smile, and he was already done for. The loving is the easy part.
