"Don't go too far into the water, Lucas." I hear her call out to me. "I won't, mom. Me and Rattata are staying on the shore." I answer back to her as I continue chasing Rattata back and forth. I just... have to get... a bit closer...
"Tag! You're it, Rattata." It stops and turns around with a surprised squeak. I start running as Rattata chases after me. "H-ha, I'm- too f- ast for you-woah!" I trip over something in the water and hear... a squawk? I pull myself up and turn around to look.
Suddenly, something quickly emerges from the water with a splash. I step back clumsily. It turns its head toward me and I freeze. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-" I didn't get to finish as the pokemon lunged at me with an angry squawk.
Without thinking, I reach out and grab it and push it away. "Rattata, help!" I call out as the pokemon flaps its wings angrily.
Suddenly, it gets hit by a tackle attack. It's Rattata, it saved me.
"Lucas! Are you okay?" I look over and see my mom running toward me as the pokemon flies away. "I'm okay, mom. Rattata scared it away." I tell her as Rattata climbs onto my shoulder.
