“You nervous, babe?” Beau broke the ice. Better that way, she decided, to cover up her own insecurities.
“Hm.” Yasha encircled her hands with one of hers, rubbing her thumb in a calming circle on the back of one of Beau’s hands. “I was not, before. But now we are actually talking about seducing someone, which is a little new. A pity Jester and Fjord just started dating. I think she would have been fun in bed. Lots of laughter.”
“You don’t worry, when someone laughs, that they might be laughing at you?”
“Mm. Not Jester.”
“Huh. Honestly, fair.” Beau let her mind clear and her eyes wander. “Shit - shame those two are probably dating.”
“The tiny ones in the corner? I didn’t want to say anything in case you thought I had a type. Well, a physical type. I suppose we can’t tell much about them besides the dark hair and the small size. Although you might be able to pick up more details.” Yasha grinned. “Whereas I can just pick them up. Probably one in each arm.”
“That is unfairly hot and you know it,” Beau moaned quietly. Yasha just smiled, teeth bright against dark lipstick.
“I wonder if either of them can handle a sword,” Yasha mused, adding just a bit of a flex to make Beau’s mouth water a little more.
“You know, I think at least one of them might surprise us. The real question,” Beau tapped with her drink stirrer on the edge of her cup, “is if they can handle us.”
“Mm. Only one way to find out,” Yasha said, inhaled and exhaled, then stood, long legs powering her across the floor.
“We’re doing this? Fuck, okay, I guess we’re doing this,” Beau muttered, and followed, as ever, after Yasha.
