"Momi-chan, what took you so long to come join us?" Kiryu asks, chin resting on Haruka's shoulder like it's routine. And honestly, maybe it is; Sakae is rarely around Haruka with his other friends. He knows Nirei is a fairly touchy person, but not quite like this.
"Indecision," he answers truthfully, "I know I have a reputation, and it's not exactly wrong… Meeting people isn't my favorite thing."
"Aw," Kiryu coos, yet it lacks any mockery, "But you're trying for Sakura-chan~"
He didn't need to word it quite like that, Sakae thinks, feeling his face warm up slightly.
"It's nothing," he says too abruptly. Kiryu smiles in a way that immediately gets under Sakae's skin— he feels much too seen in this moment.

Birds flit between the different heights of sills, white wings carving down the cloudless sky to the branches of the courtyard cherry trees, finding audiences in the General Hero Agency's comers and go-ers and hunting cicadas. Shouto follows Katsuki’s gaze to where a semi-circle of them hopped and pecked at tiny mysteries in the pavement around one of the benches, where Izuku and Uraraka were small colourful shapes of laughter together, veggie offerings from their bentos flying out into the crowd of birds.
“I dreamed about him, I think.”
A familiar indecipherable look. Another conversation Katsuki doesn't want them to have. One that ends in "Welcome to the fucking club." His furrowed brow says he’s trying to stalk in the corner moodily, but the breeze is sweet and the light is pooling on half his features and all Shouto thinks is thank god I can kiss him.
Katsuki pushes his feelings down, tucking away the important things in little nooks and on high shelves like a malicious housekeeper, trying to barricade away what he has from what he wants to keep from losing it all. Quirked with Katsuki forced to do whatever he says, Shouto is going to find a way to make him open up about their crush.

Now, when she watches another smile stretch across Lapis’ face, promising gleam of teeth and all, she feels vaguely sick. It pulls at her, this illness coughing up her spine, beckoning. She concedes.
Lapis laughs softly. “You’re jealous.”
Lapis pierces her own navel. Jasper, in her own fashion, deals with it.
