Work Text:
When Kim Rok Soo woke up, he felt excruciating pain in his lower regions, as if a watermelon was trying to bust out of his ass.
"Millicent-nim! Hang in there! Push! Puuuush!!!"
'The fuck are you people talking about?!' he inwardly screamed. He couldn't say anything out loud because something really was trying to bust out of him. The people around him, all mostly ladies, were at the end of his legs, which were bent and covered by a single blanket. It kinda looked like he was giving birth. And if pushing is the way to get the pain to stop, he'll gladly do it...
'BUT HOW?!' he wondered.
He finally gave in to the pain and screamed.
"Millicent!" someone shouted. There was a new presence beside him, who took his hand and began muttering words Rok Soo knew were supposed to calm him down.
But he can't calm down. Everything's painful. He just wants whatever demon's trying to get out of him to Get. Out. Right. Now!
And also,
'Who the fuck is Millicent?!'
Yes, it's kinda late to realize that people are referring him to a different name. But, he woke up as a lady giving birth, so sue him! A name change is the least of his worries! He wants to know what god or deity found it hilarious to put him into this situation and smack them in the back!
Kim Rok Soo screamed in rage.
"My love, hang in there!" the man holding his hand said.
"Fuck you!" Rok Soo yelled back.
When the man chuckled, he wanted to flip this man, who he assumes to be Millicent's husband, and make him feel twice the amount of pain he's going through. Kim Rok Soo was already a man that hated feeling pain, and this 'husband' was not making things any easier!
He took a look at the man, thinking that he should probably forgive him since he didn't deserve to be cussed out just because he was giving birth. But when he saw the excited grin on the man's (admittedly handsome) face, Rok Soo decided that he wanted to punch him.
Yes, pain. Pain for the husband.
"You're doing great, dear," the man said.
Rok Soo groaned and squeezed his hand back, making sure it was as hand-crushing as possible.
"I can see the head!" one of the ladies yelled.
Needless to say, the next hour was full of Rok Soo cussing Millicent's husband, screaming, panting, and finally finding out the correct way to pushing the demon-baby out of Millicent's womb.
The pain lessened, and the cries of a newborn baby filled the room. Kim Rok Soo was panting loudly, but tears fell from his eyes as some kind of warth spread throughout his chest. He looked towards Millicent's husband whose eyes were wide and shining under the lamplight towards the direction of the baby's cries.
Rok Soo smiled, squeezing the husband's hand slightly. He wondered how he never broke it after his petty handcrushing grip.
The man turned his face towards him, chin trembling, and then falling to the floor on his knees.
"Millicent," he whispered, kissing the back of Millicent's hand and guiding it to his cheek. Rok Soo found that Millicent's hand immediately began caressing it, the affection in his chest blooming, making him wonder if this was Millicent's feelings as well.
"Thank you," the man said, his voice wet.
It was at that moment one of the ladies came in, carrying a clean baby that was wrapped up in a soft, blue blanket in her arms. Rok Soo found Millicent's arms immediately reaching out for the baby. The lady gently smiled and laid the baby beside him.
"Congratulations, Millicent-nim, Ron-nim," she said, her voice low as to not wake the baby. "It's a healthy baby boy."
Rok Soo watched as the tiny baby that popped out of him after a full hour of pushing softly slept, his tiny chest going up and down. Affection, not Millicent's but his own, began welling up in his own chest for this tiny life he did his best to birth.
"What will you name him?" the lady softly asked.
The husband reached his hand towards the baby's tiny head, and patted the baby's soft tuft of brown hair, very similar to the man's.
Suddenly, Rok Soo remembered what the lady called the husband. 'Ron-nim.' Ron.
Before all this, Kim Rok Soo was on a (forced) day off, and spent his whole day in the library, reading a series named The Birth of a Hero. In that series, there was an assassin duo, the father going by the name Ron, and his son...
"Beacrox," the husband replied.
Kim Rok Soo watched as the husband, who he now identifies as Ron, caresses his son's cheek with his finger, his eyes very soft... and seeming very different from the vicious assassin he was familiar with in the book.
