Work Text:

Koriand'r was tall.

To be fair, almost everything about Kori was extraordinary. From the moment she stepped on the planet however many months ago, she was an enigma to the people around her.

Aliens were completely normal at this point, people had seen so many in both terrifying and every day situations. Most aliens, however, weren't humanoid. They were nothing compared to Kori.

She looked almost human, if it wasn't for her deep, orange skin and green scleras, she'd just be an extremely gorgeous human woman.

Her height, however, seemed to get the most attention. Somehow, her alien features weren't the enigma, it was her height.

She thought it was absolutely ridiculous. She'd met many tall women in her short time on Earth. Sure, most were not as tall as she was, but there was definitely a few that were.

Kori thought it was blasphemous.

So many men tried to boss up to her, but just a comment on how "little" they were compared to her, damaged their fragile egos.

Even Batman seemed to be a little jealous, being two inches shorter.

She still laughs about it from time to time.

The first time she ever met Dick Grayson was when she'd first arrived on Earth, unbeknownst to her. After a few days of being on the Titans with no ability to communicate beyond body language, she kissed Robin - Dick Grayson - on the lips and learned to speak their language.

After she straightened out after leaning down, she could see a bright blush covered slightly by his mask, running across his nose. He stood just below her chin, looking down at his ridiculous pixie boots. All she could see was his black mop of hair.

It was one of the cutest things she'd ever seen.

The second time she met Dick Grayson, was in the normal way. Outside of their costumes.

Everyone had somehow convinced her to go to school, encouraging her to learn the ways of teenagers in their "natural habitats" to better mimic the behaviors of one.

Due to her fabulously rich roomate and teammate, Donna Troy, she was sent to one of the most prestigious high schools in the country.

The city may be full of crazed maniacs and killers, but basically half of them are doctors for a reason.

Gotham Academy was given money directly from Bruce Wayne's endless pockets, mostly because his son insisted he go to school there.

Kori was given an enchanted necklace to wear that concealed her Tamaranean features, darkening her orange skin to a deep brown, turning her scleras white and her irises a bright green, and extinguishing the embers in her hair.

Dick was a year below her in most classes, the only exception being Calculus. It was their last hour of the day.

She observed him as he quickly answered questions and socialized with the people around him.

She was definitely intrigued.

Dick Grayson was the prettiest human she'd ever seen.

His hair was jet black and messy, considering the dress code. While his hair was slicked back, multiple pieces had fallen out and revealed the fluff underneath.

He had big blue eyes that sparkled in the blinding classroom lights. His smile showed just the top row of his teeth, all white with just one crooked tooth.

Kori was absolutely infatuated with this boy.

Finally, the bell rang. Students rushed from their chairs and out the door. Before he could get too far, Kori lightly grabbed Dick's wrist and pulled him into the afternoon sunshine.

Once she finally stopped, Dick turned around and said, "Kuhhhh-an I help you?"

Kori smiled brightly and leaned down slightly, looking into his eyes.

"I just wanted to introduce myself! My name's Kori. I'm..." She paused, "new here."

Dick averted his eyes to the ground, giving Kori a face full of black. She scrunched her face and squatted, looking at Dick's face from below. His cheeks turned red and he said, "Very nice to meet you, Kori."

He moved his head to look forward now, and Kori's eyebrows furrowed. Why won't he look at her? She stood once again, his head coming up to just below her chin.

It reminded her of the way Robin had done just the same. She raised her hand to his chin, gently pushing his face up to look at her.

They were extremely close now.

She squinted her eyes and checked all around his face, hyperfocusing on the little details.

A large smile appeared on her face when she finally confirmed it. Noticing he still couldn't look her in the eyes, she placed her hands under his armpits and lifted him with ease, slamming him against the brick wall behind them.

Dick's blushed even deeper, muttering, "I missed you, Kori."

"You are wise to know that you cannot hide from me, Robin." He was finally looking into her eyes now, sporting a sheepish smile of his own.

"Why'd you do this?" He placed his arms around her neck.

"Apparently, I am much too tall for you to actually look at, so now we are the same height."

"I happen to like your height!" He said with a laugh. "Your new form looks amazing, Kori! Did you design it yourself?"

"Unfortunately, I did not. I much prefer my natural look." She frowned a bit, "Do you not... prefer my natural look?"

Dick's eyebrows raised in shock, "Of course I do! I was just a little curious, don't worry." He unconsciously wrapped his legs around her waist.

Her smile came back and she moved her arms to his lower back. "I think we've spent enough time putting it off, we should be going to the tower." She said.

As she started lowering him to the ground, he blurted, "A-Actually, I think it'd be much easier if you just flew me to the tower."

There was a knowing look on her face as she took off her necklace.
