Okay, to make sure you understand this story you need to have some context.
First of all, Mikey is in love with Takemichi. He loves him more than anything in this world. He is the sun in a world that knows no day; he is summer in a universe of eternal winters. Mikey wants to spend his life by his side and potentially adopt a dog in the future. He has no problem imagining himself twenty years from now in their future home, waking up to the delicious smell of Takemichi making breakfast and greeting him with a kiss.
What you have to understand is that Mikey is madly in love with Takemichi. Wackily. Desperately. With the despair of a thirsty man in the middle of the desert. He wants to spend all his time by Takemichi's side, gouging out the eyes of anyone who spends a little too much time staring at him, sewing the lips of those who dare to talk about him, and getting rid of the bodies of those who tried to approach him. He wants to carve his name into his body, cover him with his scent, and make sure everyone knows just by looking at him that he belongs to Mikey.
Then, it must also be understood that this… thing is something that everyone knows. Draken realized it first and quite soon actually (maybe even before Mikey realized it himself) because honestly his best friend, one of the most possessive men alive, has offered his jacket and the only twin on his motorcycle to Takemichi. With parts that Shinichiro had found! Honestly, you'd have to be blind to not notice.
Hinata noticed it a little later. It was slower, with the time needed to understand how Mikey functioned but the looks of hatred he threw her each time she was too close to Takemichi could not be linked to a simple friendship. He realized Mikey's feelings for him pretty quickly honestly; about two months after his breakup with Hinata. He noticed it in the looks he gives him, too affectionate to be friendly, in the way his commander touches him a lot, always a hand somewhere on his body. He understood thanks to his expressions, to his face which lights up as soon as he sees Takemichi, to his smiles as soon as he speaks to him, to his blushes when he hears Takemichi laugh. He understood thanks to his behavior in general, his possessiveness and his kindness, his rage as soon as Takemichi has the slightest bruise. Maybe he also understood thanks to the future Mikey in Manila and the kiss they shared before his death.
Maybe.
Anyway, Takemichi knows that Mikey is in love with him.
And Takemichi also knows that he's in love with Mikey.
Which is a good thing. In theory. Normally, thanks to these pieces of information, everything should be fine. They could just confess their feelings, go on a few dates and formalize the relationship so that everything goes well. But that's just theory.
In practice, things are more complicated.
Mikey is… well, Mikey is Mikey. He is of a very altruistic nature, quite the opposite of selfish. He tends to devalue himself to a worrying point and think that he does not deserve in any way the happiness he has, that everything is going to be taken away from him, that everything he has is going to disappear if he seeks to have more. He believes that if he gets greedy, he will lose everything he already has. And more than anything, he believes he has no chance with Takemichi.
Which is not at all the case!
In short, all of that to say that Takemichi has decided to take that matter into his own hands. He will do everything so that Mikey realizes that yes, he has a chance with Takemichi. If he can take the opportunity to work a little on his self-esteem, he intends to take advantage of it. So yeah, if Takemichi has to act a little weird, so be it. So yeah, if he has to ask his friends for help, so be it. If that is what is needed for them to experience happiness together, so be it.
