Work Text:
She had the most beautiful violet eyes he had ever seen, and the way they glistened and sparkled every time she smiled made his heart race faster than even the legendary Arsenal.
He took a deep breath. Sooner or later, he would have to get a grip - how he felt towards Holy was nothing short of silly considering the circumstance. After all, they were just about to head into battle that would likely prove to be wickedly dangerous. There was no room for error.
No room for these fleeting feelings he was sure would quell once she was gone.
The only reason Holy was even here was for the crew's aid in tackling Deadend Crow, an enemy with a history of blood on his hands that she had her sights on. She was simply doing her job. Nothing more.
His heart sank. It simply wasn't in the cards for him. Even if she had miraculously returned the feelings he had - which he had highly doubted considering her standing and how drop dead gorgeous she was - it's not like their positions on either side of the law would allow for the pursuit of love.
But he really couldn't help wanting to know more about her, at least. He wondered if he might be able to catch even a glimpse of that in the fragmented shards of time before they inevitably parted ways. He was captivated by her charm, but more than that he was interested to know more about what makes Holy, Holy.
Was that even her name? What makes her laugh? Cry? What does she dream about at night? What are her aspirations? Is she happy?
Perhaps unimportant, but Weisz was filled with anticipation at the thought of getting to know her more and more. It had his stomach feeling all fluttery. His cheeks suddenly warm and pink, he reactively buried them deep in his hands.
By now he was certain this lovesick feeling would be the end of him. Such a silly emotion, one that his heart could only open up to now. The Weisz he was on Norma would have stuck his nose up at him, acting so pitifully over a woman.
All he could do was enjoy what little moments he had with her. The little crumbs of Holy were more than enough to satiate his craving.
The flirtatious and witty remarks. The way she bounced so vibrantly down the halls of the Edens Zero. The delicious cooking he enjoyed more than anything. The gorgeous smile that decorated her face in moments of joy. Her kindness.
He would cherish it all. Every last bit.
If his feelings were unrequited, so be it.
