"Isolated"
Sendak was technically outside his jurisdiction, but Emperor Zarkon considered him his best commander and had given him an order to locate the Voltron lions. He had already had one and was on the trail of another.

In the bowels of the ship, the Red Lion sat with her particle barrier up, so no one could get close. She knew that her isolation was more self-imposed than anything else, but she didn't want anyone close to her other than her Paladin. She felt King Alfor's death, so she shut everyone else out, only leaving her bond open enough to feel her new Paladin's presence where ever he or she may be.

Keith wiped the sweat from his brow as he entered the mouth the of the cave where he found many of the lion carvings. He had been there many times and documented them from every angle, but he couldn't stay in his Dad's shack for hours on end, so he ended up traversing the desert and following these weird energy signals, but doing that didn't even mask his feeling of isolation and failure and sadness. The loss of his father was still fresh, as fresh as the Kerberos crew being MIA (he refused to believe that they were dead).

Red felt feelings trickle through her bond, something she hadn't felt for ten thousand deca-phoebes. It had to be her new Paladin...and he was hurt emotionally. She had to get to him. Her particle barrier came down, and she let out a tremendous roar and rammed through the side of Sendak's ship, destroying a good portion of the ship and forcing the commander to limp back to his own territory to repair his ship.
She took off for a blue and green planet, following the feelings she felt from her Paladin. She flew quickly through the sky and located where he was. She was surprised that he was near her sister, Blue, who was trying to soothe him. She sent a purr to her sister to let her know that she was there to take care of him. She landed near her sister's cave softly so as to not startle her new Paladin. She sent soothing vibes through her bond with her Paladin, urging him to leave the cave.

Keith was slightly startled to suddenly feel something that felt like a hug. It was similar to the feelings he had been feeling from the cave. However, this was much closer. He followed the feeling out of the cave and laid his eyes on a robotic red lion.

Red was surprised that her new Paladin was so young. He was just a cub! She knelt down and opened her mouth to him, urging him to enter. She understood his wariness and was patient with him.
Curiosity won out, and he entered her cockpit. He sat in the Paladin seat. He didn't touch her controls, just curling up in the seat. She purred to him, wanting to soothe him. She didn't know who had hurt her cub, but she was now there for him and neither of them would be isolated again.
