He sits up and looks over to Punz, trying to search his eyes for anything, just a hint of a response, just a flicker of something to tell him that what he said was ok.
But Punz can’t look Dream in the eyes when he says, “I think we should stop seeing each other.”
Dream chokes silently, feels his tongue swell in his mouth and the harsh aching behind his eyes when the tears begin to well.
“You don’t mean that.”
“I do, Dream.”
