Hermione looked at Theo blankly, not quite believing what had just come out of his mouth. “What?” she asked, not quite sure she had heard him correctly.
“I asked if you were doing anything this Saturday, during the trip to Hogsmeade?” Theo asked once again.
Hermione looked at him. “Are… Are you asking me on a date?”
Theo’s cheeks turned pink. “I… Er, yes, I suppose that I am.”
Hermione licked her lips. “I… Sure, Theo. We can go to Hogsmeade together.”
“Really?” he asked, eyes wide in surprise. “I mean, yeah, that sounds great.”
“Good, I’ll see you then.” Hermione gave him a smile before she continued on her way to the library.
“Sooooo, you and Nott?” Ginny teased, sliding into the chair opposite her.
Hermione blushed. “What? What are you talking about?”
“Allll the seventh and eighth years know you’re going to Hogsmeade together.”
Hermione let out a groan. “Seriously? Don’t people have anything else they can gossip about?”
“Since Harry defeated Voldemort? Nope,” Ginny said with a laugh. “He’s cute.”
She blushed. “Yeah, he’s not bad looking.”
“Not bad looking?” Ginny shook her head. “He’s hot, Hermione, don’t be coy.” She looked at Hermione and waggled her brows. “So… maybe he’ll be your first kiss?”
“Shut it,” Hermione huffed, switching her attention to her dinner.
Ginny laughed, enjoying Hermione’s embarrassment.
“Hey, Hermione,” Theo greeted her by the entrance to Hogsmeade. He had just said goodbye to his mate before finding Hermione. “You look beautiful,” he murmured, taking in the sight of her.
Hermione blushed. “Er, thank you, Theo.”
“So, shall we?” He gestured for Hermione to follow him. The two of them made small talk as they walked through the town. “Soooo, please don’t hate me.” He said when they stopped outside of Madam Puddifoot‘s Tea Shoppe.
“Honestly, as cheesy as this is for a first date, I could really use a cup of tea,” Hermione said with a laugh. “So, lead the way.”
“Thank Merlin,” Theo muttered, holding the door open for Hermione. He wanted to do something nice for Hermione… Something different. She often spent her time at the Hog’s Head or the Three Broomsticks, so he wanted to do something different.
“What sort of tea do you like?”
“A little bit of everything,” Hermione said, her eyes scanning the menu.
“Hi, what can I get you two lovelies?” a small, busty witch asked, looking at the two of them with a warm smile.
“Can I get a cup of peach oolong?” Hermione asked.
Theo quickly glanced over the different types. “Can I get an apple spice chai tea? And a few of the cookies on display. The sugar ones.”
“Coming right up.”
“Cookies? I didn’t know you had a sweet tooth,” Hermione murmured.
Theo laughed. “I love sweet things. Must be why I like you.”
Hermione let out a laugh. “That has to be the cheesiest thing anyone has ever said to me.” She blushed, looking at him.
“It made you smile, though,” he pointed out.
“Yeah, it did,” Hermione said, her blush deepening. “You’re sweet, Theo, I wasn’t expecting that.”
“Here we are,” the waitress said, placing their order on the table. “Holler if you need anything else.”
Picking up his tea cup, Theo held it up towards her. “To the first of many.”
“Many what?” she teased, picking up her own cup.
“Dates,” Theo replied confidently.
“That sounds good to me,” Hermione said, grinning at him.
With that, the two of them clinked their cups together before they each took a sip.
The two of them spent the afternoon chatting, enjoying their warm tea and cookies, where Hermione did, in fact, have her first kiss.
